Top Processor Chip for AndroidTV box?

by Testing_things_out

What is the most powerful processing chip in AndroidTV boxes? Is it Nvidia shield's? If so, what is the second most power processing chip?

I'm tech savvy, but a newbie in the AndroidTV space. Any information, tips, or help is appreciated.

Nvidia shield if you want a properly certified tv box.

Else you can go for boxes with rk3588 or s922x.

I would say Rockchip RK3588 (8 nm) and Amlogic S905X4 (12 nm).

Both support the new free video codec AV1 (YouTube is already using). For best value for money definitely the S905X4.

I Think the Nvidia Shield is over kill for most. It’s great if you play a lot of games. The CCWGTV in my opinion is the way to go as what was said. A good usb c hub with power and a M.2 drive in a usb 3.0 enclosure . Wireless mouse and key board. Enable developer options and your good to go for streaming and the occasional gaming. And it will be supported for many years. Benchmarks are really good also.

What are you going to be doing that needs such a powerful chip?

Look just get a shield. Everyone and their mom will tell you it's not worth it, you can get a crapstick 4k or a Google TV blah blah blah. Get a shield and be happy that you have a device with guaranteed updates for years to come and the best Android TV device on the market. Its stable, fast for pretty much everything, no lag in Netflix menu's etc and you'll be happy. I personally cannot stand low end devices or fireOS and big apps not having 4k support is a no go for me so just get the shield it's worth the money
