I think it might be because when Google forced Google+ on everyone my YouTube account turned into 2 YT accounts my original now "brand account" & the Google account. It's annoying because I have to log in again each time and select my brand account.
I have regular account and brand account. Each time I open YouTube app it asks me which one to use.
this is so annoying Google always seems to break brand accounts... does anyone know if you can block the update on chromecast w Google tv?

Apparently, the account you use for Google TV must also be used for YouTube Android TV app in that Google TV profile.
Also, this page mentions that non-personal accounts may face some problems.
Don't know why I didn't think of this sooner but Uninstall updates to the YouTube App & disable automatic updates gets my YouTube working again. I'm sure I could also sideload a version of the YT app before this update & it should work again
ffs people, just stop using the damn YouTube app and use SmartTube like any sane person does.
