New TV: might a monitor fit my needs?

by _il-Cri_

Hi :-), 1st, sorry for what might be a dumb question, just wanna make sure...
I am going to buy a new tv, and was wondering if a monitor might be enough, can save few bucks.

I'll use the "TV" only via Android TV for the kitchen, so a monitor with audio should be ok for me, am I right? Anything I should care? Room matters, so I have to stay below 28 inches. Would love a 4k indeed... a TV is an investment a monitor makes it quite a deal. HDR, 60hz is ok, anything else I have to care? I don't game, so I think a 1ms or a 5ms changes anything, am I right?

Kitchen is unlikely the room where I probably spend the most of my time (asleep :-)) so I care the price but am available for some sacrifice if needed especially on a long term perspective.

Last: the device! Not keen to go for Nvidia, maybe lately when I set up the sitting room as I planned: a device I will be happy with and my pocket will be too? Thanks a lot!!

Monitor is the way to go. A tv usually includes a tuner but if your not hooking it up to cable or DTV antenna then that tuner is useless.

So for the same cost you’ll get a better quality panel.

My guess is a monitor will cost more than a cheap tv.

You can get 32in TV for $100 not 4k of course but a tiny 4k TV seems pretty useless. Are there 4k monitors with speakers? Last I checked 4k monitor are really expensive.
