Can anything be done about this? or at least make the recommendations more appropriate to me? i.e. not Korean

I see Shrek each time I turn on my TV

totti2k2

To get rid of it completely, I believe you’ll have to download a custom Launcher to replace the Android TV one.

teatowl66

Mine did this. I had to learn Korean 😕

Google play, download F launcher, download launcher manager, open launcher manager, choose F launcher, boom. Problem solved.

illathon

No, you bought a 2+ thousand dollar TV you don't control.

t-niggs

Yeah, it's melodramatic garbage

konradwalsh

By any chance did you use a VPN to sign up for Google services... YouTube music or premium?

If so... Then...

It should change if you activate location and only elect to receive recommendations from apps you actually sub to

HammieOrHami

Try to reset it to facotry settings or set the region to the right country

Deadpool-fan-466

Make sure Korean language isn't enabled anywhere on this TV & your Google account

Dismal_Reindeer

Don’t worry, even the English recommendations are hardly worth it. I don’t want to watch Home and Away ffs

headshot_to_liver

Try going to settings and roll back Android TV home, I could roll back to original shipped version.

akisnet

Google promised that will be appropriate to users tastes.

Even on discovery section again ads.

All we said these are ads but the zealots said these are recommendations. Half the screen is ads.

If I had to guess it's probably the Netflix app's fault. You could try cleaning the app cache/storage.

erdricksarmor

Did you try watching it? Maybe you'll like it.

bobniborg1

Just at the top of your screen where it says apps, select that

randuski

This is why i don't use the built in smart tv functions. Set it to pc mode, buy a Google home or apple tv, and call it a day. I actually kinda like the recommendations i get

Ill_Eye_7584

I don't get the because I installed Google TV on my sheild

Strange_Vegetable_15

Meaning why would you run any apps through your TV eventually they never get updated whereas Nvidia shield you can sideload apps or add apps off the Google Play Store with very little effort. I have 93 different apps as well over 1400 video games courtesy of the emulator, in English.

That's what I meant by two words

Kitten-Mittons

just buy an apple tv
