App in Android TV not connecting to WIFI

by masteruy

I have a new Xion Smart TV 50’. All apps are working OK (YouTube, Netflix, etc) but I’m paying for TV stream to a local operator (TCC Vivo app). I can use the app on any Smart TV box but it can’t “see” the WIFI connection on the TV. When opening the app, all the time I receive a message saying there is not internet connection. The system info: RealtekATV, Android 9. I can’t find how to “force” the app to use the active WIFI connection (config options) as all the other apps. I tried installing the app from Play Store and from APKPure (last and older version) with no luck. Is there any way to fix this behaviour in this device?

Try unplugging the TV for 30 seconds and replugg again then try. Note: If you have a router do the same thing but do it first with the router than TV and try again. If that doesn't take you got to reset your router.

I could find the big difference between the system where the app works OK and the TV. The Smart Box is running Android TV 10 and the Smart TV is running v9. Maybe the app is not happy with norhing before 10. Another important thing is that I can install the app from Play Store on TV v9, but if I access Play Store from web browser, the app show a message related to “not compatible”. I will search if there is any way to update this RealtekATV system to 10
