I was surprised at how nice the Onn device from Walmart is, especially at only $20.

Shield pro is the best as far as hardware it's not outdated. Firmware updates at least once per year including the 2015 shield. Can your firestick users with 2nd and 3 Gen devices say that. No. Firestick 4k users expect to have an EoL by end of 2023.

If you want Dolby atmos experience shield is going to be your best bet. Never heard of any 4k problems but i could be wrong.

WTF means Doulby Atmos pass-trough? Does it have support for it or no?

On the Chromecast:

Atmos with Dolby Digital+ will work, so Atmos from the streaming services will work.

Atmos with TrueHD will not work the device can not passthrough lossless audio.

The shield TV pro 2019 is the best, you can have dolby atmos, dts:x, hdr, dolby vision.

It is future-proofed and you can expect regular updates.

I know that people have experienced issues with the updates but I personally had no issue for a year now.

firestick 4k will do everything you want just fine.

If you are streaming 4K videos with stremio get the shield tv. Unfortunately gtwc starts freezing for any stream that larger than 7-12 gigs (using real debrid). If you don’t mind watching 1080p go for the chrome cast(it still looks great).

It all comes down to money. We have a Shield and now three of the Google TV Chromecast.

Both are excellent. But the Shield is a lot more expensive.

Definitely the shield pro if you want actual performance. Apple TV if you want performance and ease of use and tight integration (if you have other Apple devices).

I don't really like my chromecast, the remote feels cheap and it has way too little internal storage. i spent a bunch of money on a hub but I should've just bought a shield.
