I have a one plus 8 and Im trying to cast videos from asian drama websites to the onn android tv box but when I click the cast button a connecting screen with the cast image appears but it doesnt play the videos. It either closes abruptly or stays in the same screen. Did I get a defective unit?
It's weird because casting from google chrome works perfectly fine when I cast videos from my phone to my google hub 2nd gen.

I also have ONN Android TV Box. You should get this app called Web Video Cast. It allows you to cast your videos from asian drama websites to your device.

It is a free app but with ads. Premium version which is like 5$ will remove ads permanently. So I say, try the app first and see if it works for you and to your liking and get the premium version. I like this app as it is the only app that I found that is able to cast video to chromecast devices flawlessly.
Just remember to use the browser that is in the Web Video Cast when you browse the websites with videos you want to cast.
