I have created a restricted profile in my Android TV for my kids to have limited access to the apps.
But when I sign-in in the YouTube app, it gives me option to select one of the google accounts that are already added to the device. I select the account and then nothing happens. The YouTube app still keeps running in guest mode.
Any solutions for this?
Have you authorized that account to use YouTube with the family settings. You may need to do so with a browser or the family link app.
I believe by default child accounts are not allowed anything but YouTube kids.
They only allowed child accounts (under 13) to have YouTube access in the last few months and it must be enabled.
I'm having this same issue, but with YouTube TV & Stadia. These work fine when I turn off Restricted profile, but if I go into restricted profile, I cannot sign into any Google Account. This has changed just recently because it used to work fine, at least with YouTube TV, Stadia has never worked for me in Restricted Profile.
Yes this recently changed with the Shield and now I can't login to YouTube TV in the restricted profile! Frustrating.
Same issue here started this week. YouTube TV automatically signed out from restricted profile and I cannot sign back in. Reached out to YouTubeTv support and they asked me to reach out to the TV manufacturer. I have a Sony TV, will reach out to them on Monday.
Me too, just set up a Nvidia shield, YouTube tv, created restricted profile and added YouTube tv as only app. When I go to restricted and run app it acts like default config and asks me for login or create account. I click login and my Gmail account appears, but can not add password......So frustrating.
Same issue, samsung tablet, it has nothing to do with the hardware or tv
