You can get an onn box from Walmart that works really well and that's the one I travel with but the two streaming boxes I have at home and it's the expensive route but it is amazing it's my Nvidia Shields pro both you can stream to.
If you need to play content from USB devices you might not want the Chromecast (it's limited to FAT32 and you'd need a hub), or if you plan to install many apps (it has around 4GB free storage). Other than that it's a great device, it just lacks AV1.
My advice is Xiaomi Stick 4K, support AV1
I've found issues on FireTv cube watching linear channels using the Silk web browser. If I don't close out silk by backing out to the exit dialogue and the switch to the recast to watch antenna, no sound☹️ I also occasionally find the sound on a antenna channel continues to play when I switch to another channel. But maybe the problem is the recast dvr. I also have trouble with my android tv but again to be fair I've hacked Google tv, replacing the Android Tv. I've also hack Google tv on my TiVo dongle again with various troubles. My Chromecast dongle with Google tv has been trouble free.

Definitely google tv, I'm waiting for the new version to come out.
Bonus: make sure you turn on developer mode and turn up the speed of the ui. This will make switching and pulling up apps much faster
