So I went and got the Android box onn and it only has the USB for power so I guess I need a otg cable to use USB devices?
I tried Walmart and target and they don't seem to sell otg devices so I have ordered an otg.
My main reason for wanting to use USB is to play movies from my dvd collection that I ripped on my computer. The Android tv has vlc so it can play any movie files.
It would have been so much better if they included a otg cord!
Nobody is going to include any specialty cables. I use an old powered USB hub with ethernet I've had for years. Set an old 1tb portable drive up I've also had for years as device storage. :) All my content is on the network though so I don't have files on the drive itself. Look into Nova media player or Kodi to make a library of your media. If you have them named correctly you can get a much better experience then with VLC.

If your computer runs Windows you can access your movies through smb on vlc for Android TV.
