I tried to watch House of the Dragon on my Sony television which has AndroidTV. It starts playing but then freezes in a black screen just as the show starts. I can watch other shows just fine, except for that one and the original GoT series. Eventually I started it on my phone and cast it to the TV. I know in the past I've watched GoT, so something changed. Anyone else have issues playing those shows? I went through all the tips to fix this and nothing helped. It's very odd.
Could be a regional thing. Are u in the US? I’m asking because I have a friend that was vacationing in Greece and could not watch the Finale of GOT on HBO Max because of it. We had to FaceTime the whole Ep lol
So I have a sony tv same issue when using the HBO app doesn’t play House of Dragon, but it does work just fine if I use my PS5 and the HBO max app on there. Has to be something with the android tv app? It’s crazy cause it’ll play all other content just fine. I don’t see how changing sound settings would do anything and if it does then has to be something with the app
Same thing. Frozen. Shut off sound bar for one second, played, turned on sound bar and worked fine. Wow.
Same problem, sony bravia android tv Workaround for me is just to open settings on the tv, press back and it starts playing.

What a stupid problem! I have the EXACT same issue and the soundbar trick worked for me as well. I’ve been having to cast the entire season from my phone and now I finally have a solution for the season finale. What a joke!
It's being shown in 4K UHD do you have the resolution set correctly or dumb it down the resolution that it might stream better for you
