TCL 4K ANDROID TV Downgrade

by Some-Wave7609

my TCL P8M updated from Android 9 to 11, since then i noticed a big performance drop.

  • apps too slow
  • subtitles not showing in local video
  • frame drop when casting video so i'm wondering if there any chance to downgrade to my previous fimware (Android 9).

Maybe. You would have to find a copy of the firmware and then know how to get the device to boot that. I expect you might want to check out xda-developers.com and see if anyone has already gathered the files and instructions.

Not likely but maybe a factory reset would help.

i checked XDA and find out that downgrade is possible and worked for many users with similar problems. here's what a did but with no succes:

so i tried to downgrade from v715 to v616 but unsuccessfully

1- i put img file for v616 in usb (exfat32) then plug of my tv

2- unsert the usb and hod the power button for 5s

but it displayed (no command) instead of starting the downgrade process.

could someone please give me an assistance.

Get a Nvidia shield of will have way better performance than a TV with built in Android
