Homatics available for pre-order and seems like free shipping at the moment

Only heard of this company 3 months ago. Their latest box called the 'Box R 4k Plus' is available for pre-order, I don't know the shipping date but shipping seems to be free though, it's price is $149.99. The difference between this box and others in their range is it has DTS and Dolby audio, Wifi 6, gigabit LAN, 4gb ram, 32gb storage. I'm personally waiting on some of their other products they are developing but thought I should let people know, I personally would buy it if I needed another media player, I still may buy it because of the extra ram and optical out as I need an optical out for surround sound.

$150 still seems a bit steep for a S905x4 box, even with the better specs. That's the same as the Shield TV tube and same as the Pro with sales.

Also interesting it has Android TV instead of Google TV and their various devices have both.

I wonder how their support will be.

The RockTek G2 also recently became available for pre-order.

The RockTek G2 and the Homatics Box R 4K Plus are almost exactly the same device. They share the same code name (YYJ), which means that they will run the same firmware (other than the oem and odm_ext partitions, which allow for customizations like the boot logo screen).

There are a few differences between them;

The color of the case/remote (white or black)

The style of the remote (G10 or G20)

SD card slot (absent or present)

The RockTek pre-order price is about 15 usd higher. I don't know if shipping is included.

Homatics also added a few other new devices to their product page.

$150 seems up there I thought maybe $99 or $109 at the most.

Can anyone confirm if this actually does have TrueHD & DTS Master Support?

latinriky78

It must have Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio passthrough otherwise it will be too expensive to compete with the Shield at least in that regard.

I've heard they have a relative good support for firmware updates so time will tell.

What else are they working on?
