The Nvidia Shield is the best option. Yes it is overkill, yes it is more expensive. But the remote is fantastic, the software is solid, the hardware can do almost anything. You will use it and enjoy it for a decade.

If the choice is only between those two, do you care about the home screen interface?

The nokia uses android tv, while the ccwgtv uses google tv.

The X3 SoC used in the nokia is probably a little bit better than the D3 SoC used in ccwgtv.

The nokia has a pretty fancy backlit remote. The ccwgtv has a very minimalist remote.

The nokia's usb port is easily accessible. The ccwgtv needs a usb-c otg cable, which adds to the cost.

The nokia supports all file system formats (fat32, ntfs, exfat) natively for external drives connected to the usb port. The ccwgtv natively supports only fat32.

Both of these devices are a little dated now, and will probably always run v10 of the operating system.

I would advise Nvidia Shield TV Pro 2019 if you can afford it.

I don't know the Nokia 8000. The chromecast with google TV is a good device, however there are no USB ports to plug your external drive. You can still use usb-c hubs though.

Since it’s a 1080p screen and no hdr the Walmart onn UHD box. 20 bucks. Need an adapter for the external drive but works great.

100% NVidia Shield. I tried several different Android boxes and NVidia is the best. I have 4 TV and every single one of them has NVidia, my son has 2, one of them 2015, still works like a champ
