I've had this guy for several months and it's been pretty solid. But this week the remote has been disconnecting while something is playing. I know there was an overheating issue in the past but I thought they fixed it with an update? Any suggestions or just buy another?
The overheating issue was a power supply problem. An update isn't going to fix that. You would have to get a replacement.
I have the same issue. I m connecting with Google TV apps remote and changing remotes name then works.
Its usually because the box is next to something that emits heat like when people put it on the back of their TV or when you put it next to a new piece of electronic equipment or put it on a place that isn't ventilated. Make sure the box stays cool at all times.
Or, sometimes its the AC adapter that is faulty. Just use an old usb phone charger instead. That's why I never throw away chargers.
Did you try getting brand new batteries? That has been my permanent fix. I never had the over heating problem, I can’t help u there ☹️ Oh but what did do in case it overt heated, place on an incline / behind my tv. That way it are flow under it. But again it hasn’t over heated on me.

I did an update on one I had and and the update was over I had to repair the remote. It wouldn’t pair so I put it in the freezer for 5 minutes to cool down and then it paired right up. Might be the bluetooth overheating. So make sure you have it wear it gets air around it.
