Transfer app from new to old tv

by iProphetHD

Hey all,

I hope you can help me with my problem. So im running two LG TVs one is from 2019 and one ist from 2017. The Problem is, that an app i want to install is only available for devices of 2019 and after. Is it possible to transfer the app from my new device to my older one both of the are running the same software just a different production year.

If im in the wrong sub could you please recommend me a sub where my question is better placed.

So it's a smart tv, not an android TV box? Can you access the filesystem whatsoever? Via usb-mtp, adb, etc? If so you may be able to make a backup apk which could then (maybe) be side loaded to the other tv...sounds like a lot of work. Try the $20 onn 4k tv box at Walmart. It also happens to have an unlocked bootloader and root method available.

Don't LG smart TVs run their own operating system webOS? It ain't androidtv. You need to ask this in /r/webos

What App does it? Playing movies and TV shows? Get an Android TV box and there are plenty of good click and play apps for it.

There are apps from 2027 already? Seriously though, if you can find a similar app, I'd install that instead.

Have you looked on sites like apkmirror, etc?

Perhaps you can get it from a Play Store mirror and sideload it?
