Change/Remap Shortcut Buttons ONN Android box

I have tried using Button Mapper on my ONN device to change the Youtube shortcut to something else. If I push the Youtube button to map it, it closes Button Mapper and launches Youtube. Is there a better way?

Out of all the apps I tried TVQuickActions seems to work the best for button remapping

ButtonMapper doesn't work for the branded buttons. You need to use Tasker (or MacroDroid?) and capture the button press with a logcat trigger. There is a tutorial floating around, as well as a root method for that box (u have the 4k right?) Look for codename "dopinder" on xda-developers

I haven’t tried “TVquick”, but I’ve read that this new remote is hard coded that you can’t remap the app buttons. So the 4 app buttons at the bottom can’t be remapped to something else. What I did was use the “bookmark” button as my remap for another app. It worked.
