I just got the Onn TV. What are some must have apps for AndroidTV?

I just rooted mine and got SmartTubeNext and recapped the YouTube button my remote so I can load SmartTube instead.

Its pretty awesome! What else is there? Also I noticed that I can't open Google with this thing. It would be nice to be able to search for some of those free movie sites with this thing but then again, there's no mouse unless I use scrcpy, which at that point I might as well just use my laptop on my TV. Is there any good reason to use Google on this thing when the controller can't hand mkb input?

AFAIK, you won't be able to use Google on the rooted version which means you can't use voice inputs for your searches. I could be wrong though since I'm on the non-rooted version. I do recommend trying out the tvQuickActions app if you want a better mouse pointer using your remote

Reading along and was curious. Is there a way to turn the remote into a 'Mouse' like the Firestick remote? I do have a Bluetooth mouse connected but once in awhile it would be nice to use the ONN remote as a Mouse.

How did you change the YouTube button? I was under the impression this was not possible since it was hardcoded somehow to the original YouTube app.

If you want to use a browser you can alway ad a bluetooth mouse and keyboard or try TVBro which is built for Android TV.

Ok this what you’ll need mate and welcome to the Onn Box 👍 first I’d suggest getting the “Downloader” App from the Playstore to side load apps easily. After that I highly suggest you the ApkTime App. It has a lot of free Apps for free content, u select and choose what u want. Also has App tools that are useful. It’s trustworthy.

As for shows, movies and anime I’d DM you the links to the Apps you can use “Downloader” to sideload.
