I have a Onn 4k player I just bought, and a TPLink AX3000 wifi 6 router. Everything else in the house connects to the router and runs excellent, except for the Onn player. It refuses to connect. I've tried just using a separate guest SSID with 2.4 then with 5ghz and that still didn't work. Only way I can get it internet access is to hotspot my phone. Anyone know of a way to fix this? I did update the device as soon as it connected to my phone so Onn should be on latest firmware.

Have you tried doing WPS to test out a connection between the onn and router?
Is the router using WPA2 security?
Have you tried configuring a static IP for your ONN device?
Does the
router's system log
show what type of error is occurring?
Ok I got it working! I setup a guest network strictly using 5ghz. Then set a static IP for the Onns Mac address. After that I was seeing "ip configuration error". Took me a min to find the issue, but it was because the router somehow added that Mac address to the device blacklist. No idea why that happened, but it's fixed. Thanks again for all the responses!
I know my Onn loses connection to the 2.4 WiFi a lot. I got a “gamer” wireless router and it’s been fine since then.
