Game over, Google Stadia

Best gaming platform I ever played on, worst company ever. Such a shame

Purple_Passion000

I guess they couldn't harvest enough data from the service to make it worth their while. That's the only reason for being for any Google device.

ManofManyTalentz

What a disaster. They had everything going their way - market, first mover advantage, amazing tech that worked .... The list goes on.

This is a management and imagination failure.

Berryfetcher

What a shame! I really liked playing on it. The refund is the only thing that is great about this.

What a sad day.

What now? Move to Xcloud an option?

I get so fucking frustrated with google. I buy so much of their stuff, and there's always at least a 50% chance they'll let me down.

I purchased the 2nd generation Google TV (back in 2011) which was orphaned in about a year. Their Nexus and Pixel phones have been good.

I've got a mix of Amazon Echos and Google Home devices in my home. This week I really wanted to get some new high-end speakers but apparently Google discontinued the Google Home Max (which I really wanted because it supports YouTube Music) and ended up just getting the Echo Studio and Echo Sub bundle (great deal for $249). Google just isn't refreshing their speakers and it wouldn't surprise me if they exit this market since they don't even bother to compete.

You just can't count on Google as it pertains to consumer services and devices IMHO. It's always a big gamble which is inexcusable for one of the biggest companies in the world.

Like with most things google, stadia had a beginning, no real middle, and an end.

I say this as a google fan and once a stadia customer.

Not even surprised. Google sucks. Photos is the only Google app I like now. All the others have been ruined.

Expensive_Finger_973

No real surprises there to anyone that has paid much attention or how Google is these days. If it is a platform and does not have an intermediary like Nvidia, Samsung, etc invested in doing the heavy lifting of making it a usable consumer product long term don't count on it lasting long.

Dry_Illustrator_3049

Google discontinued yet another product -_-

Was never gonna survive with that :buy the game then pay to stream" model especially when you can get Immediate access to over 300 games with Gamepass .
