So my new Sony A80k has pretty much no local storage so I bought a USB drive to leave permanently plugged in. I used Google's TV option to reformat as internal storage and it works great. When I install new apps they go there. The problem is that I cannot seem to find a way to transfer big files to it from my computer.
One of the main reasons I got it was to transfer big-ish video clips to use as screen savers (for movies I have a dedicated SSD), but using a file manager only shows the local storage. When I use the TV option to move/migrate my data to the USB drive it fails. I can only move apps manually from settings. But for photos/video or any other content I can't seem to find a way to transfer them there.
Any ideas?
I think the only way to fix that is by resetting the TV to factory settings, it happened to me with the Realme stick 4K.
I use x-plore and I've been able to move files between my computer from the LAN and from usb sticks and hard drives I've connected to the device, x-plore has two panes, on the left one you can search for the files you want to copy/move, on the right pane you have to select the target, then on the left pane press and hold the folder or file you want to move and select copy or paste, let me know if you get any errors or warnings.
