Onn 2160p box - power off with remote after TV code programmed???

by llzellner

In a bid to solve some user issues and keep it to one remote... I setup the ONN 2160p box to control the TV..

OK.. That works great...

But NOW how do you turn the Onn box off? Ok, its really put to sleep??? ???

I did setup the screensaver and set it to "sleep" after 30 min inactivity, but I'd like to have a button turn "off" the box.

Is this inactivity mode now the only option once the button is set for a TV????

Thanks!

The easiest software solution is purchase the app " tvQuickActions " which can program a remote button to transmit Android's <Shutdown> command.

AndroidTV's default sleep mode is similar to a cell phones screen-off/sleep mode, where the device is alive but using less power, the Onn.4K awake is using around 4W of power and asleep it's using around 1W.

It don’t. No android tv device is built to go to sleep. They are designed to be always on. OR use IR for TV remote and plug the onn box onto the tv.
