Android TV box limits usage (Explanation in Post)

No Netflix

Kodi

Apk installation

I have an Android TV box that I got from my internet provider that's connected to their own streaming service they have. I can watch what they have in their service, but it's pretty much limited for other uses. Some examples (with pictures):

  1. They just magically removed Netflix from the Play Store, so I can't watch anything

  2. Tried installing Kodi, but 1 minute into setting it up the box just decided to remove Kodi and gave me a error code.

  3. Can't install apks into the box.

I just cancelled my subscription yesterday, so the TV box is pretty useless now. I thought that maybe they made their own Android OS and put it in their devices. So can I just uninstall their OS and install a custom one? Or is there a way to fix it?

What is the make and model of the box?

Throw it in the trash and buy a different one. Or try toothpicking it and see if you can get to TSOP to install custom rom. I'd chuck it, box's are cheap.
