Does Android TV have an App so I can use a Keyboard to search for Shows?

by chinawcswing

My Sister has an Android TV. When searching for shows on Netflix, she has to click the directional arrows on the remote control to find each individual letter. It takes forever.

Is there an App you can install on your phone that will let you use a keyboard on your phone to perform this task?

We tried searching for "google tv remote" but the only apps were literally a GUI of a remote control, without a keyboard. And these had ads.

Besides the Google TV app, the Google Home app also has a remote with keyboard. If you have an Android phone you can also use the remote in the quick settings.

Get the Google TV app and that has a remote with a keyboard for typing.

Not only you can use a USB keyboard, most Android TVs have a microphone in their remote, so you can just speak the words instead of typing. Although not all apps support the microphone feature

Depending on your device use the Google keyboard app and then the app mic and keyboard will appear when clicking on the search bar. Also make it the default keyboard....it is what I have done with my shield and Chromecast with google tv.
