Does anyone know of an STN Beta alternative?, I’m sick of STN breaking all the time, I am currently on v16.19 but videos constantly buffer, I can’t skip through videos (if I skip just once video locks up and I have to back out of video and replay it), sponser block not working, after video ends it doesn’t auto play next video, the whole thing is a mess
My internet speed is good as I recently upgraded to full fibre

There's NewPipe but in terms of features it doesn't have that many compared to to STN.
Have you tried the stable STN releases instead? Was this happening before you changed to full fibre? What Android TV is it, maybe it doesn't like the VP9 codec that much and could work better with h264/AVC?

Maybe update to latest beta. 16.26 is the latest.
If you have so many issues with SmartTubeNext (Beta) then just give SmartTube (stable) a try instead?
(The names have been changed some time ago, SmartTubeNext is now the name of the beta branch and just SmartTube is the current stable release.)
I used to be a on the beta version for a long time when YouTube changed their API a lot and things got broken. But for the last 6+ months now when i reset my Shield i went with the stable SmartTube version instead and i have seriously had zero issues with it.
Keep in mind that SmartTube offers a lot of options and with some of those if you dont know what they exactly do, you could "ruin" the stability of the app. Also, just because it has worked for me doesnt mean it needs to work for you too so its perfectly legit to ask for alternative apps.
But maybe try the stable version first, because imo there is simply no real alternative app that comes even close to SmartTtube :(
