you cannot. google tv home screen is completely controlled by google and even continue watching also requires google's authorization. I'm not sure if there are any third party launchers which allow us to do this.

I don't think that's Google TV. What device is that? Google TV is only on Chromecast with Google TV. There was a time what you want to do could be done with Android TV channels. Not sure if it's still possible.
