Smart TV

by ExternalVariation733

I run a few IPTV subscriptions - is an Android tv the best for doing so? The only app I really need to run is Tivimate and perhaps another player. I have ‘downloader’ app also which allows me to add other apps. My Sony Bravia absolutely refuses to hook up automatically to Ethernet and I’m ready to garbage it. Everyday it’s a struggle - restart tv - reboot modem - this that and the other thing. So what tv should I be looking at to avoid this nonsense? Don’t know if the flair is appropriate but that’s what I used.

Thanks

Auto DHCP? Or manual ip?

Have a look in your router logs to see what's going on.

Does wifi work fine?

When was the last time you did a restart? (Hold down power button on remote, select restart)

2 days ago i bought a tcl c725 Not the best in terms of picture quality (basic qled panel no oled nothing fancy) But the os is fine and Ethernet works and iptv worked flawlessly Maybe tcl isn't right for u if u have high standards in terms of picture quality But at least it works for me lol

I think down voting smart TV's in lieu of external devices does not necessarily hold true any more.

The smart TV's are introducing more powerful CPU's and more RAM.

Case in point. I have a 2 year old Vizio Smart TV, along with a Yamaha AVR, and I think it is just as capable of media playback as an external device.

I have 2 mini PC's, one 2017 Nvidia Shield, one Mecool KM2 Plus, plus half a dozen of other boxes/sticks connected to my TV/AVR. I use the TV's apps more than apps running on my other boxes, most of the time.
