Can someone who has a Google TV tell me if you can watch videos on panopto with it?
My university uses it but the cast function is not available. I want to be able to watch while taking notes on my phone so casting the screen won't work.
Thanks

I believe panopto is just recording software on PC and isn't actually a platform for video to be streamed. Instead your university is likely using that software to record the video and then they are storing it on a local server where it is then streamed using a web browser. They do this instead of using YouTube to keep the video hidden from the public (i.e., to keep you paying tuition). If the server where the video is served does not require a username and password then it's likely you can just use Chromecast to stream the video on your TV once you load the webpage on your phone or tablet. If you can't figure out casting, you should call your university's IT department and ask them if the video is able to be casted via your phone. You should also ask them if they have it set up so that you can download the videos using podcast software, because you would be able to sideload a podcast app on Chromecast or just copy the downloaded video files from your phone to the chromcast. If they don't allow casting or podcasts, one last option is you can download an app called TV Bro from the play store, which is a web browser for Chromecast. It will be a little clunky to use because you don't have a keyboard or mouse, but it should work for you. You will navigate the web browser using your remote control and an on-screen keyboard.
It's not showing as available for Android TV so you would have to side load it onto the ChromeCast. How well that works I don't know.
