Instead of idling, TV plays Pluto/GoogleTV. How to change this back? (Sony X900H)

I have a Sony X900H Android TV .

Typically I turn everything off manually, but it used to be that a connected device (console, etc.) would shut down if left on too long and then my TV would go idle and shutdown shortly after.

Now when the device shuts down, the TV switches over to Google Play and just plays extremely loud trailers. It completely stops the idle function from turning the TV off. I've set the TV up now to turn off automatically after so many hours, but I would honestly prefer it worked how it used to work.

Is there some way to change this back? I can't find it in any of the menus. The only options seem to be to have it be PlutoTV or Google Play.

Disable this feature. In my experience auto-shutdown almost always results in really weird behavior from connected devices that suddenly lose that connection with no warning.

As an update -- this happens on my TV even if I just turn off the source.

I did find a "fix", which was going into Settings > Apps > System Apps and then totally disabling Google Play TV and Movies.

Now it just stays on my original input as it used to do. Hopefully it'll help someone else, from what I can tell this was common on Bravia TVs at some point too.
