Logitech Brio 4K - Image Quality - Philips 65OLED937

by KuruFasulyeGazYapar

Hi,

I've bought a new Philips 65OLED937 AndroidTV and wanted to try Logitech Brio 4K with Google Meet. Image quality was extremely bad. Did you have any experience with AndroidTv and Logitech Brio 4k webcams?

Google Meet on Android TV is still Google Duo, they haven't updated the app since june, it's still unknown when Google is going to update the app on Android TV, unless you're talking about the original Google Meet app sideloaded manually.

Anyway, the quality on videocalls from your webcam to the other party is bad, Google hasn't optimized the video experience at all, it's even the same on computers when using the duo.google.com which now loads as Google Meet.

It seems though that they optimized a very few Logitech cameras (like the C270) but I guess the one you have is not on the list, webcams from other brands are out of luck as well.

Something else to comment is that Android TV seems to fail to render 1440p and even 4K webcams correctly, even 1080p is "too heavy", 720p seems to be fine which is disappointing.

I just tried a Logitech C920 on a Philips 43PUS8057 Android 11. Crappy video quality, sort of VHS quality, and it doesn't even recognize the webcam built-in microphone (which I see is a common problem) and this really annoys me!
