I have a Philips Android TV with a clunky interface and terrible user experience. Also the app store is highly restricted. It seems to have a Chinese OS version. I have a Chromecast with Google TV connected to it and never use the native pre-installed Android version. Is there any way to bypass the Android start-up as it takes a long time for the TV to start? I want to turn it to a 'dumb TV' with Chromecast.
My Philips Android tv doesn't have a Chinese OS as far as I know. When I shut down the tv with the remote the Android part keeps running in a energy saving mode. So when I power on my tv again I don't see an Android logo and within 8 seconds or so it is operational. Do you maybe completely remove power from the tv when powering off?
