My old HDTV (not running Android TV) is able to blank out the screen with just the audio on when playing app such as Spotify. Useful when want to use the TV for just audio listening. My new Android TV does not have this feature. Wondering if it is just my made of Android TV, or it is the limitation of the Android TV operating system in general not allowing such feature.
I think my Sony OLED can blank the screen.
AndroidTV's default programming is [ long_press Mute_button ] to allow for Audio playing with screen-off. The TV manufacturer may have altered this programming and assigned it to another button press, which the owners manual should make note of.
My Hisense definitely can. Under audio settings, you just choose the audio only option. Screen goes blank and only audio comes out.
My Sony Bravia has a 'Screen off' option.

It's not a limitation of Android TV
Low end TVs tend to not have this option
