Hi guys, I can’t get my head around this particular use case. Any inputs will be appreciated:)
So I have a google assistant smart speaker (Jbl Link view) which works well on its own. I can also use it as a Bluetooth speaker and connect it with my phone or laptop.
I also have a Android Tv box (Mi box) and yes it’s official android tv and not any modified android version.
My use case is to use the speaker as Audio Out for Android tv box.
I tried scanning the Bluetooth on Tv box to detect speaker(in pairing mode) but it just won’t show up. (I thought it was possible since my phone can detect the speaker every single time).
I also tried Media controls on Google home app to set speaker as Audio but that doesn’t work either.
I’m starting to believe this use case is not handled by Google. Is it so or is there a workaround that someone else has figured out ?
Go into Google Home, click on the device, click the gear for settings, click audio, then click "pair Bluetooth devices".
Note: your TV will be muted and can't be turned back on while speaker is connected via Bluetooth.
Edit: also depending on your Android TV version, you may have 2-3 different "types" of Bluetooth connections to search from. Some only find legacy devices, other mode finds easy connect devices, etc.
