Web Video Caster is a great app for casting images and video from your phone to your tv but especially for casting videos from websites to your tv. The app has a built-in browser that can detect videos in web pages and then cast them to your smart TV or smart device (like a Chromecast with Google TV).

There's also an (Android) functionality called Screen Mirroring or Wireless Display that will 'mirror' the screen of your phone onto your TV screen. This can be useful but isn't recommended if you just want to cast a video to your TV screen.

The screen mirroring function is usually a built-in feature of your phone. Check this video on how to cast (mirror) your Android phone screen to your Android TV screen:

You could buy a Chromecast with Google TV (Google TV is basically the successor to and the new name for Android TV) but personally I think it's a bit underpowered for its job and no where near as powerful as the Nvidia Shield Pro. A bit more powerful and also Google certified and with a nice remote control is the Mecool KM2 Plus. Here's a review: https://youtu.be/Pz703Yib4s8

EDIT: I realize I'm not sure if you even need an external device for your TV to be able to cast to it. If you have a so called 'Smart TV' you can probably cast to it or screen-mirror to it without any extra app or device. Just make sure your TV and phone are on the same network..

I cast from my iPad to my Sony tv via video web caster and video web receiver
