Any idea what's wrong with my TV?

It's broken.

vedderx

I'm not an expert mind you, but I think it might be broken

WaveofSerenity

I’ve had this with a bad HDMI cable before and also if I have one of those super long cables. Try swapping out the HDMI cable.

CVGPi

TCon board or the screen. First try going RMA. If that is not an option, discharge and take apart. Find every removable connector and reseat them 2-3 times. Then TCon board. The last option is to just replace the whole tv and sell the old one as parts, as displays cost more than TVs

SKM2012

Looks like you've got kids and assuming something got thrown at it.

Jaanisjc

For a second I though you are watching football

I get that with one of my HDMI cable connected to one of my devices. I fix this just unplugging and plugging back the connection.

Imagin1956

Try diff HDMI ,if nobjoy open it up reseat and check for damage/ corrosion on ribbon cable connecters .. . Failing that .Fubar ...

Kaiju_Cat

Just change cables. Had a problem that looked like this and it was just the hdmi cable farting out. Found out how often they go bad.

Could be the TV but try your cable first. Also try another input port.

Trust__Nobody

Have you tried hitting it really hard with a shoe?

MastahKilla

Time for new TV unfortunately.

But, before that turn off the tv for while try factory reset change the hdmi port.

Looks like the screen is broken no point to replace the whole panel cause its too expensive.

AlXBG

Either broken components or broken HDMI

MechanoManic

Yep, fubar!

Fesak1836

I hope its not your screen ! Is the device external meaning is it plugged in to an HDMI port ? If so change to a different port or change cable . If it is the screen it may have a maintenance mode to troubleshoot . If not do you have insurance 😏

Baymavision

Ooo, stripey!

Potential-Act3022

Ain't got no gas in it.

SCGreyWolf

It needs to be replaced?

PavanayiReturns

It's the screen. Happening a lot with Sony TV. mostly the display driver has failed and damaged the lcd panels . Is this under warranty?

qtr2022qa

bro played with dev options 💀

FindingBroad9730

you need a new TV, that's the problem

E39er

Yes. It's telling you, you need a new one

zenil32

Did you try anything? Any news ? I believe it should the HDMI cable. Or try unplugin everything from the main power and wait for a moment to plug it back again. First TV, then something else and so on to check every part of it

MasterVivi0

Update: Thanks everyone for the comments. Unplugged all hdmi and switched on TV. Issue still persist. TV have not been dropped before as it is permanently mounted on my wall. My kid is not even 1 years old and he is not capable of reaching and throwing any objects on my TV. Got a TV repair guy to check on it and he told me it's severe screen burn in and the cost of repair is better off just getting a brand new TV. I'm gonna stay away from sony's TV for now and i just got a Prism+ TV as a replacement hoping it could last a long time. 💸

SenseMakesNone
