I woke up this morning to a splash screen on my Google TV with a list of new features. I wish I saved it, but it had bullets for things like Watchlist for child accounts, personalized screensavers, new parental controls, the ability to filter our shows you don't want, and more. I have spent a few hours trying to add shows to my child's profile, and I was only able to add shows from Amazon Prime and Disney Plus. and ones that showed up in the popular shows row. I can't figure out how to add shows from Netflix, or YoutubeTV. In fact, I can't even add the YoutubeTV app to the child's account. She has a lot of shows in there like the Smurfs, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, FancyNancy etc. If anyone could post how to do that it would be really helpful. Some shows the search engine can't even find. It only finds the movie. so it cannot even be added to my watchlist. Even with these restrictions, I was able to add 13 shows to her watchlist, so it will be really helpful. I just don'tunderstand why you can't add recorded shows from Google's own app
I was able to add some shows by searching for them on the google website, but they are only able to be played from certain apps. For instance, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse can only be watched from fubo or philo, which is weird because they are live tv services, but YoutubeTV is not available for any shows. The same is the case for Smurfs, Pinkalicious, and Fancy Nancy, and Cat and The Hat Knows a lot about That. I wish we could select a default app to play from for each show. There is so much potential for this device to be a menu of shows to watch, which is what I want from a streaming device. It's much better than a menu of apps.
