my hisense android tv (android tv 11) has no option to disable bluetooth. i dont like this because frankly i dont trust anything that doesnt have a custom rom without all the spy cruft installed. i dont trust google. i dont trust chinese companies like hisense. i only got this tv because im familiar with android and its a little less untrustworthy than a smart tv with roku, there were no comparably priced dumb tvs for sale anywhere i could find.
im using this thing with no internet access but i know it can still scan and ad-hoc connect to other devices if it wants to without my permission.i have wifi disabled and went into the system apps and manually disabled all of the system apps that talk about partner devices, hotspot, tethering, and the like. of course there is no off switch for bluetooth and its impossible to disable the app itself in system settings. for my peace of mind i would like an app that gives the functionality to shut it off or engage airplane mode which is also missing from this device.
why do i suspect this device is communicating with other devices without my knowledge or consent? because its already established that other devices do this and create a background mesh to communicate among each other and report data back to the corporate headquarters when theres no direct internet connection, and i refuse to believe that such a sheisty company as google wouldnt be doing the same. see this braxman tech video for more information on this subject. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ccrUAp4GQvY
any solutions are welcome, if im unable to find a solution ill simply take the tv apart, locate the network chip and cut the traces or desolder it, but i would prefer an option that retains factory level connectivity in the event i want to factory reset this and sell it
Doesnt remote pair with bluetooth? Lol
