EAC3 Codec

Anyone know which codec version will work with a MX Player Pro on a CCwGTV? I've downloaded 5 different versions and none of them appear in the download folder when I try to add a custom codec in MX Player Pro

What version of the app do you have?

The updated codec is shared via Github:

You would need to download the mx_NEON.zip for the CCwGTV. Depending on what version number of the app you have determines what codec version to use, so if you the latest app-release version you use the last released codec version, but if you have an old version of MXplayer Pro then you need a similar version codec. Example, app-version 1.26.0 would need Codec version 1.25.0; the app version will use a slightly older codec version, but if you try to use a very old codec version it will not load/use it because it's too out-of-date for the app version you're using.

Is the problem just EAC3 (DolbyDigital+) ?

If you TV or streaming device does passthrough audio correctly all you need to do is turn on the Passthrough setting in MXplayer main settings then choose SW for Audio options to get passthrough working. But if you Audio equipment doesn't support DD+ natively, that is when the MX-codec is need to be installed to transcode the DD+ to AC3, or multi-channel LPCM, or PCM 2.0 stereo.

Tbh I kept having this issue with mx player and therefore have made the decision to not use it in place of VLC (I prefer mx player but always seem to get some codec issue that takes too long to sort out or mx player decides it can't see the codec). VLC just works with whatever I throw at it
