I don't know I'm asking this in the right place, but I need help. Which one shall I buy? I have a Google Home mini at my place and I would like Fire TV stick more as I'm an Amazon Prime Member, but it doesn't seem that the two of it can work together. And as Mi Box S (not officially sold in India) I'm not sure if I shall buy it. Please help me decide!

Hi folks, looking at going back to the stone age with a box or tv that can run without Wi-Fi and has an ir remote. Has to be able to run with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth off for health reasons. Does anybody know of one? Preferable a current model. Cheers.

I have a Mi Box S, (and I am happy with it), my only wish is that I could, somehow, use my laptop to transfer data to the Android TV.

It is not just a matter of a keyboard, I would like to copy/paste username/password/urls etc in my Kodi/Netflix and so on, or copy/paste links to my Youtube for example.

I would also like to cast a Youtube video from my PC to my Mi Box.

I used to be able to transfer data to/from my Raspbery Pi, (using Kodi).

I was wondering if there was something similar possible between my Laptop and my Android box.

Hi everyone, just got brand new MI Box S yesterday trying to hook up an ext HDD to it to watch my own content. I am sitting here with 3 different HDDs which all show up as ''corrupted USB drive'' whenever I hook them up. Tried formatting them in either exFat and NTFS, but same issue upon connection. I just tried a shitty 8gb thumb drive (ntfs) and it magically connects without any problem. MORE THAN THAT! all of the 3 HDDs show up in the ES File explorer and from there I can easily navigate through the content and even play it by choosing both VLC and KODI.

I dont really want to use ES file explorer, I just want one of the HDDs to get mounted properly so both VLC and KODI will see the drives. What am I doing wrong and why is it so frustrating?

I got 55pus7303 tv it's great but I would like to use steam link app for playing games from my pc, it works in ethernet but i still get quite a lot of input lag, i want to use game mode but it's greyed out, is there any way ?

Can you suggest me a tv box where I can install/use (better if from usb) linux/Ubuntu and use it as a minimal pc?

When I watch a video like MKBHD (in 4K, but 21:9 aspect ratio), the image gets vertically compressed by maybe 10%. This is happening on my 2017 Philips 7272 TV with Oreo and the latest YouTube app. If I manually switch to 1440p or below, the issue does not appear. If I switch back to 4K after having first reduced the resolution, the image retains the right aspect ratio for a short while before being vertically compressed again (possibly once the resolution actually changes back up to 4K).

Does anyone else experience something similar? Does anyone have an idea of how to fix this?

Long story short, my Android based Sony TV popped, so I've switched over to LG which has its WebOS (chopped down version of android - edit: not actually true, although linux based and can run android apps at LGs discretion.... the hellfire I've been subjected to for this misinformation has scarred me for life and I expect to be burning in hell for my sins very soon, deservedly so) . It doesn't quite have all the features I want so I'm looking for a TV stick/box to pick up the slack.

I've not had one since my pre-4K days so not sure how good or bad the current "cheap" options are.. they used to do the job, albeit laggy at times.

I've been looking at the "T9 Android 8.1 TV BOX, 4GB RAM 32GB ROM RK3328 Quad Core smart box supports 2.4Ghz WIFI USB 3.0 4K Resolution H.265 BT 4.1" as a kind of mid-range price for the stick (at £50 GBP / $66 USD), are these any good or at 4k (Using Plex or USB) are they a laggy box of crap? And how are games running on them (PS1 emulator, older games emulators)?

Any advice or pointers appreciated.

Hi all, last week I updated my philips tv (55pos9002) to android 8 and now I'm experencing some problem with an external ntfs usb disk that worked very well before the update. Video files on the disk can be played with philps player but vlc/mxplayer/kodi won't see the external drive anymore. Did anyone experienced something like this? Should i re-initialize the tv or it's just a firmware bug?

can you run apks on them without sideloading? like if i get a apk will it be on the home screen or do i run sidelaucnher

Been using my Shield for a few days now. One thing I've noticed is that in Play Store, there is very few apps on display in each column. Takes me roughly two seconds to scroll through all in one category. And that's it. Is there any way to find more apps? I know there are insane amounts of apps, but I feel it's kind of hard to discover them.

I also miss more categories to check out. Kind of hard to find new content, if you get me right. Any pointers?

I come from a Mibox 3 that let me download files from my FTP server to the externally connected HDD, which was great. Now, the new Mi Box S does not let you do that anymore, and I tried some of the workarounds I found Googling but to no avail.

Tried to format a 500gb HDD to be set up as internal storage, but so far that has led to the box freezing up on me twice now. Anything I am missing?

Also, if I format 1 HDD to be recognized as internal storage, can I use a USB hub and have another HDD as external storage?

This just started Friday/Saturday.. the first image will pop up for a flash then the screen goes black.

We're getting tired of accidently turning the tv off.

Just curious if anyone else has this problem. I am hoping to not have to factory reset this.

When I start the device, it goes straight to telling me I need to update sling TV. When I go to update, I get a status bar that says "install pending" and it goes nowhere. What can I do? I've had this problem for a few months, and would really like for it to work. Also, if anyone has some helpful links on how to get the most out of my mibox, I'd be most appreciative. I don't know a lot about Android TV, but I do know I miss the dang cat channel.
