what app would I need? (not google play music)

I installed mobdro and terrarium to my Sony 900e using Aptoide TV but I cannot get either app to work. The opening animation for both will open then crash. Any suggestions?

So I have a Red Rhino box and was super excited to use it with my new 55 inch 4k LG TV that I bought (Model: 55UJ62) but every time I try and connect it, it says "No signal". My Nintendo Wii U works perfectly though.

I've tried everything I could think of (changed hdmi, changed port) but it still doesn't work. Yet it works perfectly on my parents Samsung tv and even a cheaper brand tv we keep in the bedroom.

I've just splashed out to buy a Nvidia Shield as a replacement TV box for my Minix X7, which I haven't been updating recently.

What are the must-have apps in your opinion?

I have local videos and music on a PC hard drive but also want to stream. Main interests are sports (Rugby Union - especially Super Rugby and Mitre10 Cup since I'm from NZ, English Premier League, Bundesliga and the upcoming FIFA World Cup) plus some TV and movies (but not a lot).

Do I still need Kodi or is it easier just to use a mix of apps - YouTube, VLC for my local media, Tunein, BBC iplayer plus a VPN or DNS service, maybe Terrarium or Morpheus, Zattoo for German TV, plus an IPTV app and playlist for NZ and Australian TV?

Any examples from what you have chosen to install yourself would be helpful in trying to work out where to start.

Would anyone be willing to upload the HIDIVE apk from the Amazon Fire TV? I would greatly appreciate it. I would like to try it on Android TV.

I have an SSD mounted as adaptive storage on my Shield TV.

If I try to download a large game from Play Store it stalls and then the storage unmounts, I need to reboot to get it back working.

Anyone else having this issue?

So, after asking here a while ago about buying a Mi Box, had the chance to buy one and did it right away. Now, I'm really new to Android TV and the only uses I could think of were Netflix (the reason for the purchase), YouTube and maybe Twitch? Can you guys provide any advice to make my experience better and how to make the best out of my device? Thanks a lot in advance!

Edit: I'm looking for advice on the software experience (suggestions for apps, games, Android TV tips and tricks), not on the Mi Box. Seems like some people didn't get that.

What are the best casual games that don't require a gamepad beyond a standard Android TV remote?

Does anyone know if the Mi Box with 6.x firmware can do HDR to SDR color conversion in any video playing apps?

I went and bought an expensive 4K TV just before HDR panels became commonplace. I've got some 4K blu ray remuxes, but without color conversion movies that use 10-bit color will look washed out on SDR displays.

I saw a screenshot of a settings dialog for the Mi Box running Oreo and it looks like there are options for HDR to SDR conversion.

Hello Redditers, I'm not sure if this is the right subreddit to ask these questions but I was considering buying a TV Box if it allows me to do the following things :

• Connect it to a PC and stream movies (In VLC) to my HDMI TV.
• Allows to stream Twitch.tv or browse the internet

I have no knowledge on those "TV Box" so if you could refer me to a good Android or other brand (if allowed here) TV boxes that can do what I need that would be great.

Things to add, I'm currently running a long HDMI cable from PC to HDMI TV and it's really annoying to juggle around the cable everytime I walk in my living room, so if I can stream my movies and maybe browse the internet on a TV box it would solve so much problem.

Hi all, I have a HDHomerun tunner on my home network. Recently installed the Google Live Channels app on my Sony Android TV and configured my HDHomerun as its tuner.

When I hit the TV button on my Sony remote, it asks for the first time if I want to use the "Live Channels" app or the Sony "On Air" app as the live tv app. When I select "Live Channels", it binds to the TV button on the remote.

Unfortunately, I cant do the same with the TV's EPG button on the remote. It doesn't give me the option to use either the Live Channel EPG, it defaults to the Sony EPG app.

I'd love to change that as the Live Channels EPG looks a lot better.

If anyone has any idea it would be appreciated.

I'm interested in getting a MI BOX or similar Android TV OS device, but all the ones I've seen have minimalist remotes. This is not good for live TV which I would want to use with the box (Kodi frontend, TVheadend backend with DVB-S2 card). Is there any way to add an IR remote control and to remap buttons? I'm not interested in using a flirc btw, bad experience with the device.

In the Google Play Store, there is a "Vudu app for Android TV". This app has 4K HDR vs the Sony app, which does not.

I was on the Indian Version and found out that the custom ROM exists. Naturally as an idiot I downloaded it. However it has bugs and runs slow.

I tried to go to the US ROM but the file I had was Chinese Update Zip. And now I am on the Chinese Version with English Language with no browser or APK INSTALLATION available.

Can someone help me to get to the US version?

I'm looking for a modified apk for Xfinity Android TV. There are some links out there, but they appear to be down for a while, and as far as I can find, the only source.

I'm hoping someone around here happens to have one of these files sitting on their PC somewhere and can share with me.

I have a M8S Pro W which comes with Android TV. However I tend to use Kodi for playback of my stored media collection. With my previous android boxes, I used XBMC launcher and it would automatically launch Kodi without showing the android home page.

I have tried XBMC launcher with Android TV and it works correctly. However, instead of going straight to Kodi, it displays the homepage of Android TV for 1 second and then shows "home page" of XBMC launcher for 1 second and then loads Kodi. Is there a way to skip the home pages for Android TV and XBMC.
