Hi all, Is there any possible way to get the amazon Fire TV/Stick UK catchup apps running on the shield? I know i can sideload the standard apps but they don't function with the shield remote for easy up,down,left,right,select,back navigation.

Any Ideas?

Got a 55XD8005. Was impressed with it's speed to begin with, but after hooking it up to freeview and installing youview it runs horribly.

This the same for everyone? Takes ages, to load the guide, ages to change channels, even to turn on. Is youview compulsory if you want freeview? Any way to speed it up?

Looking to buy a Mi Box for my living room set-up with an old analog stereo amplifier and a 720p optoma HD65 projector. I would get a chromecast but since I need separate outputs for HDMI video and analog audio I am leaning towards the Mi Box.

A lot of the time I would use it solely for audio streaming like a (chromecast audio) with the projector turned off. Will the audio output work with the projector turned off? Anyone have anything good or bad to say about the sound quality of the analog 3.5mm output on the Mi Box?

I'm trying to set up streaming video for my dad. Originally was going to Firestick/Kodi but Kodi looks like a bitch to use. Then thought about just Firestick/Netflix/Hulu/AmazonPrime, but then my dad wanted to be able to watch video from his USB disks. So I'm now using the Mi Box from Walmart.

The issues I have is that when I insert the USB drive into the Mi Box, VLC Player doesn't seem to recognize the drive. I'd have to go to VLC's settings, and quit/reopen the app. "Auto Rescan" is already checked ON in the settings. It seems VLC never closes, so it doesn't rescan on open.

Also, can't believe there isn't an easier option to eject the USB drive. Right now I have to go down to settings, scroll to the right, click icon, scroll down t oeject.

So I'm using my GApps account on my android TVs and it gives me errors saying it couldn't login. However all of my searches and history is there.

Anyone know of a fix or what's going on?

Latest software on a shield and Mi Box.

I am able to download the app, and go online to activate, but Charter is never listed as an option to connect accounts. The Charter website explains that these apps should be available for Charter customers but I don't see the option. WatchESPN was the only app that offered Charter and I was able to connect no prob.

Is there something simple I am missing? I thought maybe using my Charter credentials with the Time Warner option might work, but no, it did not. Any thoughts/suggestions? Thanks.

EDIT: Contacted FoxSportsGO help and they said that Charter does not support FoxSportsGo for Android TV. I have no clue why but it appears that Charter is holding out on multiple Android TV apps for their subscribers. Very disheartening.

bought a mi box from them during their sale but haven't heard from them since.

So I have "successfully" setup TVH and integrated it with Live Channels. I have three OTA channels and a number of m3u8 streams running through TVH.

My issue is that in the TVH app, I can choose VLC, Exoplayer, or GooglePlayer as the playback backend.

• VLC plays the m3u8 streams fine, but has issues with stuttering on one of my OTA channels.

• Exoplayer and Google Player play my OTA channels perfectly, but I don't get any sound in my m3u8 streams.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix these issues?

Latest version of app launches in portrait mode even though Sony android TV is mounted landscape. Developer customer support says to simply use the rotation lock to force it to landscape, but that option is not available on the ATV version.

Also, the app no longer is in the main screen of the app drawer and i have to find it in the "running apps".

Any suggestions on what to do? Deleting the app and sideloading a previous version seems to be my only option until Developer updates the software.

Of the apps I have installed, Pluto and Bloomberg are the only ones that integrate with Live Channels. What gives? This is a cool feature that seems to have no third party traction.

Has anyone figured out how to set Kodi as the default launcher? I just picked up a MiBox and want it to launch Kodi when I power it up (or hit the home button)

I can connect to my NAS in Kodi/SPMC for videos, but I'm interested in having a permanent mount to my shares so I can access my ROMs in Retroarch or another emulator, is there any way to do this? Is root possible on the Mi Box yet?

I know for Netflix I will need to upgrade our account and I plan to do that.

Any other 4k sources that are live right now and don't require a significant purchase or sign up?

It's annoying. Also, when trying to search for a video, it searches every letter I type, so my search history ends up rammed with gibberish and half-completed words. Can that be turned off so it only searches when I tell it to?

I bought a Sony Android TV a year ago, 43W800c. The purchased was based from PS4 sticking to 1080p, Sony was silent about PS4 pro all over 2015 or did I missed the news? Well, now PS4 pro is all over the news and so as HDR. So yesterday I dropped by at a appliance store and saw an LG TV with HDR playing a demo video made by LG. It was good I haven't seen that clarity anywhere and I knew it was a 4K video, the bad thing is I don't have the capacity/bandwidth to download 4K videos. I always choose 720p for the size/space, I really don't mind for real life videos/movies. So I checked the price list of HDR TVs, for the price I prefer LG and it's the 49" one, for the size upgrade. It's WebOS, it's ugly but I don't care. Not going to buy now maybe a year or the next.

Which box would be good. Looking for live tv and or movies. I dont know where to start looking unfortunately if some one can point me in the right direction

I ran my Mi box for about 3 weeks, and it suddenly wouldn't even play a youtube video, i thought for a moment, and searched for the cache. It immediately started working again. I just thought other might want to know, in case their system seems to be slowing down.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.
