I’m using BBC iPlayer to watch the Queen’s funeral and it keeps timing out to the screensaver. It’s getting very annoying

Any suggestions on how to fix this?

I'm switched from Xiaomi Mi Box (ATV 9) to Mi Stick 4K (ATV 11) and now I can't find any downloader manager with external storage support.

ATV 11 can see that USB storage and I can access it via file explorer, but downloader managers like Downloader or Download Navi don't have access to external storage, you can choose folder only in internal one.

Any ideas how to fix it?

Hope someone can help as this is getting frustrating. We have ST on Nvidia Shield Pro, everything seems to work OK but the 'recommended' videos hardly seem to ever change. Even though we watch a lot of vids by using the search function the recommended section doesn't update based on our previous view either.

We had ST on an old R-pi and it worked fine, would update the recommended vids fairly frequently and they would all be along the lines of things we have previously watched.

As it stands the recommended section is full of videos we have absolutely no interest in and even though we ignore those videos for days or weeks the selection doesn't change much if at all. It also keeps videos we have previously watched in the 'recommended' section as well.

Have been through all the settings but couldn't see anything obvious, hopefully someone can point me in the right direction.

Seriously. I need to reset it to factory settings like once a week. It's so frustrating cos it just comes up with a new issue every time. One day it just randomly says "connected no internet" when connected to WiFi, other time the WiFi just turns off all the time and doesn't want to stay on when turned back on. I just kinda wanna throw it away at this point. It's been nothing but frustration. Before anyone says, I tried all the tips available online (stuff like the time etc is set to network preferred. This TV just sucks)

Anyone also having all sorts of issues with their WiFi with JVC Android TV?

Looking to wife proof it, just have kodi automatically run on launch.

I use ProtonVPN at the moment, but I have to turn it off all the time for specific apps. Is there some free VPN with unlimited data similiar to ProtonVPN that supports blacklisting certain apps on Android TV?

Edit: on ProtonVPN mobile, it's called split tunneling, is there a way to get that on Android TV?

I just rooted mine and got SmartTubeNext and recapped the YouTube button my remote so I can load SmartTube instead.

Its pretty awesome! What else is there? Also I noticed that I can't open Google with this thing. It would be nice to be able to search for some of those free movie sites with this thing but then again, there's no mouse unless I use scrcpy, which at that point I might as well just use my laptop on my TV. Is there any good reason to use Google on this thing when the controller can't hand mkb input?

The other streaming apps like hotstar, sonyliv aren't working at all or taking too much time to load. Tried resetting the tv. Can someone help me please?

I have Private Internet Access VPN, and have been connecting using their own app. I have set the app to connect on system start up, app start up, etc., however there are times when I catch the VPN disconnected.

There is a Killswitch setting within the app, however it instructs you to use the built in Android feature, which doesn’t appear to exist anymore.

Other than setting up a VPN connection on the router, how else do you all ensure all traffic is routed through a VPN connection?

Basically the title. I have a Mi TV Stick that I mostly use to watch Netflix. It started crashing and generally being very slow (so slow that the subs don't sync even, when it's able to play something) from yesterday. I can't find any error messages or anything, the app just restarts. I did the usual troubleshooting steps - restarted the stick 15 minutes after plugging it out, factory reset, clearing Netflix data etc, but nothing seems to work. Googled for more solutions too, but nothing came up that had the date for past two years.

What else can I do? I rarely watch English content, so the subs lagging is a real problem for me.

I have one of these devices. I no longer subscribe to DirecTV stream, and was wondering if there is a way to install full android TV on it and not use the stock installation on the box?

I can still use other apps as it is, but it often forces me to a screen that says I’m no longer subscribed. I’d like to get rid of that and just have a full Android TV experience. Does anyone know if this is even possible?

A lot of these free streaming apps have the same channels so I like using the live tv app to customize the channels.. Do any other apps work with this besides pluto and xumo? Im using a nvidia shield.

I've read on various posts that using sideloaded apps can cause "notifications" to be sent to the device (shield pro) which causes it to wake up in sleep mode.

I know one option is to turn off CEC control, but I'm attached to this feature, lol. SmartTube has become rather popular, does anyone know if it's possible to disable this? I did a skim through the options but didn't see anything related. I'm at the point where I'm going to uninstall it because the lights are waking me up at 3 a.m- but I'd rather not 😅

I'm looking for a suitable replacement for my Realme 4K stick and even though updates are scarce their KM2 Plus looks really interesting in terms of the SoC, certifications with different services etc. Then when I look at their KM6 Deluxe I really like the fact that it has 4gb of RAM especially but it lacks some certificates that I dearly want. Could there be a hybrid of the two?

If I can get together enough money I will be looking for the nvidia shield pro immediately.

The Google TV is looking very tempting but I'm not sure about the performance with it only having 2gb RAM. My biggest issue with the Realme 4K stick is that it takes ages to start Spotify and I would really like something that will do that a lot quicker.

I don't play any games on my TV so gaming is not a factor for me. Is the upscaling on the Shield noticeable for less-than 4K content?

I want to disable wi-fi when the tv is in stand-by mode, is that possible?
