Can the startup of an application be automated?

I have set up an exhibition, with a dozen android tv (hitachi), we have them playing a video in VLC. Is it possible to program that when I turn on the TV, VLC starts and that video?

Prime Video & Disney Plus not playing videos

So I'm running Android TV 5.1.1 (outdated lol) with both these apps downloaded. UI works fine, I can scroll through shows and movies without any problem. The issue I have is the fact that I can't play them. With Disney Plus, I get the error code 39. If the version of my OS isn't the problem, then what is?

Help with TiVo4k Stream remote?

The home button on my TiVo 4k remote has just started changing the input on my Pioneer receiver from TV/Sat to BD. I did not change any settings; and I can not find anything in settings to make this stop. I’ve had this TiVo in this setup for over a year, and it just started doing it. I reset the remote and reprogrammed it; still have the same problem. Anyone know what’s going on and how to fix it?

Replace newer android home with older, ad free version

Hello, turns out you can use the guide below (requires root) to make system volume read/write and replace android home with ads with an older, ad-free version. Worked for me on a rooted onn 4k.

It's a bit of a deep dive, and yeah, using a 3rd party launcher is easier, but it's the principle of it, dammit.

Onn 4k alternative

I am looking for an Android TV box or equivalent that will play the same or more codecs than the FireTV stick. My main complaint is there is way too many ads with FireTV. Im looking to direct play my files using Jellyfin.

I have tried the Onn 4ktv box and it is very promising, but it appears to be lacking Dolby Digital and Atmos. Are you guys aware of any AndroidTV or boxes that will direct play the videos without advertisements ?

Im wondering if something like these will work. I would rather not get a Shield as they are kind of expensive.

User profiles still missing?

Does anyone else still not have the option to select a user profile when watching YouTubeTV? I still only have the option to add a kids account. I'm using a CCwGTV if it matters, and have the latest guide as well as the "favorite channels" option.

VLC FOR MY SONY X80K

Hello. I recently got myself a sony x80k google tv. Since it comes with play store, i tried installing VLC through it. The download completes smoothly as its a mere 30mb package but the installation fails to complete. The default video player for local files is quite unsatisfying to me. Please provide me with links to download the latest VLC for android TVs or any similar video player that can change audio if its dual audio file and change/import subs from storage as well.

smart tube next video skips an hour when i use my tv remote

Hello everyone, I started using STN and it works perfectly but when I use my vizio remote to black out my TV screen (by holding down the mute button) it skips about an hr into the video I'm watching. This is totally stumping me. The remote is not even for the android box and I don't understand how there is any correlation at all. I disabled HDMI communication on my TV but it still happens. Any ideas?

Mi Box S and 8BitDo Pro 2 issue

I bought 2 8BitDo Pro 2 controllers and they work fine in my pc and mt sony android tv. However I cannot pair them correctly with a new Mi Box S I just got. I update the firmware in the controllers and the android in the Mi Box S however the best I can do is use it with an usb cable. When I try to pair it they fail. I was able to pair 1 of the controllers after many tries, however after using it for mere seconds it stops working and turn off on its on. This happen only with the Mi box, on my android tv it works just fine. Does anyone knows a solution to this? Aside from burning the Mi Box S of course :P

CCGTV Issue with HDR10+

None of my apps (Apple, Netflix, etc) have a pitcher when the switches to HDR10+. I see the HDR10+ and then the screen goes absolutely black. And I get sound but no picture.

High contrast problem with mi tv 4a, i know the problem is a software issue tho because the problem is only there for whatever is in the focus of the tv for example as shown below the problem is only there for the settings menu and not the main one when i open settings

After installing the Google TV launcher, is it safe to just completely delete the original Android TV launcher?

Tp-link AC750 - only NETFLIX works

TV in hotel room has an ethernet cable - i unplugged the cable from the tv and plugged it into the tp-link ac750. My iPhone connects to the router and works like a charm. I then connected a MiBox to the TV (hdmi) and the tp-link router. The MiBox says that it is connected to wifi but that it does not have internet access and nothing on the MiBox works, EXCEPT NETFLIX, which also works like a charm. I am stumped, how is this possible?

Peacock no longer working on Sony X950H?

I have tried deleting the app data, then I tried completely uninstalling and re-installing but every time I try to open the app it says "Something went wrong. Please try to access Peacock from a more secure device."

The app had been working fine until now.

Moving current media from TV to chromecast with assistant

Hello, I just got a Sony TV with Google OS and I have it all set up in my home. I'm able to cast to it, and watch shows.

One thing I've been trying to figure out is if it's possible with the voice assistant to take what I'm watching in, say, the Netflix app on my aforementioned TV and transfer that playback to my chromecast attached to my TV in the other room.

I've googled it for a couple days and tried all variations of commands that I could find. Any advice is appreciated.

Besides "normal" functionality, what else can be done with a Chromecast with Google TV?

I´m considering buying one of these dongles but I´m wondering, what can I do with it besides the standard funciontality.

Would I be able to add a VPN app and browse other contents?

What intereting things can be added? I remember someone saying I could add a USB hub to add devices or storage but not sure If there are any resources to check this out.
