I am looking for a working app to clone youtube on TV. There are lot of apps to clone phone but didn't find one for TV

The main questions I have regarding this device are:

1. Does the Onn. Android TV 4k Streaming box need a custom rom like Lineage OS to be flashed onto it for it to be reliable or should I keep it on the stock build?
2. I also have heard reports that this device has issues with buffering so is there any way to mitigate this issue?
3. Does this device have mouse and keyboard support through the built in USB ports or do I have to use a USB hub to get mouse and keyboard support?
4. Is it possible to add storage to this device?
5. Is it easy to sideload apps onto this device (like downloading them through a web browser on an android phone) and if so do they usually run reliably?
6. If sideloaded apps can run reliably on this device would this device be capable enough to play 4k60FPS Youtube videos on Newpipe (open source 3rd party Youtube client) with minimal buffering?

I am at my wits’ end with this nonsense. We have a Sony Bravia Smart TV, and the system is up to date. My partner and I have iPhones, and eventually were able to control the TV through our phones by downloading the Google TV app. The problem is, the TV repeatedly prompts us to re-pair our devices whenever it damn well chooses to — even every thirty seconds sometimes. You HAVE to enter the prompted code, or the phone remote stops working, and the only way to get it working again is to clear the cache and data from the Android Remote system app. And now even that has stopped working, and the Google TV app no longer recognizes that there is a smart TV in the room, much less connects to it!

Needless to say, we aren’t thrilled with having our viewing constantly interrupted because the TV is choosing to hold us hostage. There HAS to be a solution to this, but Google has led me nowhere. Is this a criminally ill-advised “feature”??

As the title says, my smart tv plays local downloaded movies at 60 fps, while they're 24fps, is there any way to fix this? I searched a lot and explored all settings in tv and nothing turned up helpful

I just bought a Shield tv pro today (2022) model from best buy and Everytime I load up The Twitch app to watch people streaming any game, that twitch apps keeps stopping.

I run on gigabit Verizon internet using the Google mesh network

Soon I'm going to connect Xiaomi devices to pretty old TVs.

Xiaomi Mi Box 3 to Pioneer PDP-434HDE. Box has 4:2:2, 4:4:4 and RGB modes. Pioneer TV has option to choose 4:2:2, 4:4:4 or RGB in its HDMI video settings.

Xiaomi TV Stick 4k to LG 22LS3590. Stick has Android TV 11 and I could find no color space settings, maybe they located somewhere else now? LG TV has no info or settings for supported modes.

Which color space mode should I choose?

Is there a trakt.tv client for AndroidTV? If not, what do ya'll use as a universal watchlist for AndroidTV?

I tried the Google TV one for Android but it's interface is only horizontal and not practical for a large amount of content.

So I went and got the Android box onn and it only has the USB for power so I guess I need a otg cable to use USB devices?

I tried Walmart and target and they don't seem to sell otg devices so I have ordered an otg.

My main reason for wanting to use USB is to play movies from my dvd collection that I ripped on my computer. The Android tv has vlc so it can play any movie files.

It would have been so much better if they included a otg cord!

I'm currently using the Chromecast/TV as my main way of streaming pretty much everything, Netflix, HBO and my owned Google Movies. I plan on getting rid of the cable box and going all streaming But I think the Chromecast's low Storage Space is not going to work out. I have had a few issues in the past with the device very quickly filling up.

I'm leaning towards the Nivida Shield Pro simply because it has 16 Gb of Storage which should be enough to run Sling TV as well as all the above mentioned apps plus a few more for my kid.

I have a few questions tho, if you guys could take the time.

First, is the on screen UI Similar to Chromecast W/TV? My Wife and 7 year old will be using this the most and they need to be able to use it without calling me every day.

Second, Will my daughter be able to access her owned movies through Google TV? She regularly watches Godzilla and Pokemon movies.

Third, I have a Sonos Sound Bar, can the remote for Shield control the Volume on it as the chromecast remote does?

And lastly is there any other options I should be looking into? Maybe a different box or something? It needs to be relatively easy to use as well once its set up.

hi there, i'm pretty new with this whole android tv-smart tv world as i haven't owned a TV in a while. bought one, but this one seems to be embedded with some sort of whale tv launcher variation, which i honestly don't like because of its looks, so i wanted to revert it to the android tv original launcher, but it looks like has been uninstalled or disabled because i can't seem to find it anywhere on the apps section, so at this point i am having a me vs android tv war where i hope i can finally make it and revert its looks as the original launcher.

tried to install the google tv version but it requires to set my resolution to 720p, which i can't do as the tv doesn't have any option of that kind, but the play store seems to work without any problem, so it's kind of weird.

praying for someone who knows how to make my plan work!

Is a browser or a way to type from my phone and it shows up in the browser on my android TV.

I have three android boxes in the house:

Both Onn devices are the $20 variant.

The one in the bedroom is having the "remote can not connect" issue.

The floating one is the one I had hoped to take camping, but I'm not able to get it to play h265 files via a OTG connected Hard drive. It seems to bog it down a great deal.

Our main use in the house is Plex, Netflix, and Youtube. I could make the living room one our camping device, and then replace both the living room and bedroom devices, if that seems like the best choice. I have xbxo game pass as well, so if any boxes work well with that service.

What do you guys think would be the best route to get both a offline device and a new device for the bedroom?

I have two ONN android TV boxes one connected to WIFI and the other one connected via LAN w/an adaptor. The google tv app (TV Remote) on my phone does not see either of them but it does see my shield PRO. Do I need to enable something on the ONN devices or is there a way to manually add devices in the google tv app on my phone ?

Hi,so i tried updating google services on my NordMende Tv and it doesnt let me,it apparently has two apps for instaling other apps ,google play(in which i cant install or play any app) and aptoide tv(in which nothing works). Can someone help? Btw sorry for bad english🙏

Is there any AndroidTV box with AptX-LL Bluetooth audio codec support? I'd like to watch TV/shows/movies at night using my wireless Sennheiser Bluetooth headphones, with Audio/Video in sync. My television provider streams TV through their AndroidTV app.

Do you know any media box with AptX support? (Hopefully AptX-LL too).

Have a Sony Bravia KD-55X7500H (55" 4K w/ Android TV OS 11).

I've sideloaded the latest Firefox, Brave, and TV Bro. Each one of them displays what appears to be just the upper left 1/4 of the entire screen I should be seeing.

I've tried switching to the Desktop version of sites (same result).

There doesn't appear to be any setting or command to zoom in/out (I have a keyboard also, and no key combo seems to work, e.g. CTRL plus +, I, up-arrow, etc.).

Any thoughts - I've seen a few other people referencing the same issue, but no solutions.

Is there a working method/mod to get Netflix to play 1080 on non-netflix certified Android TV device?

I have a Samsung 55" 4K HDR TV with CEC, Edifier 1700BT speakers paired to the CCwGTV. I don't have anything else plugged into the TV - it's exclusively used as a CC slave.

Everything works great, but the CC doesn't control BT speakers properly, a well known bug (if you know how to fix this, please enlighten me!).

Is there a remote that will work with the home/back and navigation, and control separate BT speakers? The SofaBaton, since you have to pair it as a nVidia Shield remote to get navigation to work, you can't then control BT speakers as well.

EDIT: I tried to pair the speakers directly to the TV, but for some dumbass reason, Samsung won't auto-connect to them when I power on the TV, making me go deep into the sound menu to connect to BT speakers, every time I turn on the TV.

TLDR: If we could re-map the volume buttons on the original CC remote to control speakers, that would solve my problem. Can this be done, or is there a programmable remote that works with BT volume control and actual CC menu navigation

I'm at the end of my rope with this Chromecast...

I'm having a hard time finding a pattern, but there are times when the buffering on the UI and actual shows/content get so bad that the device is unusable. It seems to happen most on Saturday/Sunday mornings with Disney+, and in the evenings with other apps like Prime Video, Netflix, or HBO. Basically peak use time, so not ideal. My 3yo is also very annoyed haha. I've done a bit of searching around here to see if I can pinpoint the issue. Here's what I've done:

-Moved wifi points for better signal (signal strength is always "excellent" now)

-Removed apps to improve free storage space (I've never actually ran out of storage. I keep ~ 5-8 apps)

-Changed DNS to Cloudshare (caused the device to lose wifi connection so I changed it back)

-Swapped the device with another CCw/GTV that I had in the garage (the issue didnt follow the device)

-Force stop apps, clear cache, restart device, uninstall and reinstall apps

-Cast from my phone to the device. (phone will play the content no problem, but casting still results in endless buffering if it even works at all)

Note that everything else in the house works fine. Plays content without issue. Its just this one device that has the problem, even after switching devices. I'm about to toss them both and get the Onn devices from Walmart.
