I know Kodi is pretty essential, but what else has enhanced your AndroidTV experience?

Hello guys and gals, I was wondering if it was possible to record from SCART to external HDD on a Philips 32PFH5500? Screen recording works normally when used on TV programs, pressing the REC button while watching something on SCART does absolutely nothing. Any suggestions? The Philips support website was unhelpful as it listed recording capabilities only for some models.

I cannot get my harmony controller to work with Flirc and the Nexus Player. I have the same setup with the Mi Box but the nexus player doesn't respond to directional inputs.

Does the USB hub need to be a powered hub or can I use a non powered one for Flirc?

Do you know any app (like DishAnywhere which interface is not compatible unfortunately) that lets you watch live TV channels using your cable login? I'm not talking about separate subscription services like slingTV, Vue, etc.

Trying to figure out if I can remotely wake my Android TV (Sony Bravia 2016) from my computer. I can't find much on any ATV apis that would allow this. Are there internal system calls that can be used for this effect? (For example, writing an ATV app that wakes and sleeps at a specified time?)

I want to setup an app like Maximus arcade (retroarch) is really difficult to setup imo

I tried emulating an NES game with nes.emu and had an insane amount of input lag from my Matricom gPad that made the game unplayable. The gPad is wireless over BT. Anyone else have issues with this?

Also, I tried using RetroArch for emulation to see if the input lag was there but it kept auto configuring the gPad and only about 1/4 of there buttons were functional so I couldn't navigate the UI.

I've recently acquired an Apple TV and Roku Stick due to deals from Sling and DirecTV Now. I've been impressed by both and the amount of apps and channels offered by each. I'm a Shield owner, and it will remain my main box due to the emulation apps and PC game streaming, but I feel that for strictly streaming in 1080p, the Apple TV and Roku win. I'm a hardcore Android person, so that is a tough thing to say. I was curious if anyone else had had the same experience as me in regards to trying out the competition.

Anyone else having this problem? I've been subbed for about a month now. Everything has worked fine. Last Sunday I even watched the football game. I know the channel IS still available because it is through my browser.

In the app when I go to the live section it tells me "we could not determine your location" which btw it has always done but usually if I hit select it goes ahead and loads the channel. Now it just spins. It has permission to use my location data.

Could use some help. Really want to watch my chiefs tomorrow.

My 2015 Vizio M-Series still flickers when using my nvidia shield, and I saw like a year ago that there was supposed to be a fix coming.

Did that ever happen?

In lame man's terms..can someone help me fix the casting from the DTV Now app to the MI Box. It seems like when I cast from my tablet to the MI Box the pic is overstretched..but when I cast the same app to the chromecast it is fine. All other apps appear normal on the MI Box. I'd wish DTV Now would get off their lazy ass and make a dam normal DTV Now android TV app

I just installed a new security cam system, and one of the things it allows me to do is to stream full quality RTSP streams. I would love to have a small window in the corner of my TV (a la PIP) to view my security camera (So when I am home and waiting for a package, I can see the delivery person).

Is there anything that supports this functionality today? I downloaded VLC because the desktop app does this, but the Android TV version seems very limited.

Any suggestions?

I can watch live events on the app on my phone, and cast it to my tv, however when I installed the same app on the mi box, it just shows past clips? Can that be right??

I am using the Sony Android TV Amazon Prime Video APK on my NVidia Shield.
It works great, but from a bit of testing, nothing plays beyond 1080p resolution.

My TV is 4K capable, my internet is 250Mbit, and we know the Shield is 4K capable.
I tried testing it with The Grand Tour, but it won't go higher than 1080p.

Is this a limitation of the app?
If so I really hope we see real Amazon Prime Video Android TV support in the future.

I have a problem with plex on the shield. The sound clicks and pops randomly and even cuts out sometimes. It works fine if I cast to the shield. Does anyone have any suggestions to fix this?

Whenever I try to cast Netflix to my Shield it just opens the shield's local Netflix app to the profile selection screen instead of playing the show I want. I talked to Netflix's support and they say the issue is Nvidia's (who according to support made the app). I'm in the process of talking with Nvidia's support, but they respond at a rate of 1 email per day, so I haven't gotten far on that front. The error prevents both normal casting and voice casting, which is really annoying. Anyone know of a solution?

Hi guys. It seems like the Google app store on Android TV has much lesser apps than on Android. Are there any apps you guy use to watch photos off your NAS? I am not able to find the DS Photo app on Android TV.
