I have few that i use but don't know what to download for the (N64, Satrun, DS, DreamCast, GameCube, Mame or arcade)

So I just got my Shield TV.

While playing music, I'm used to the Chromecast visualizer that bounces the album art around the screen. On Shield TV, it shows a fullscreen of the artist from GPM. Most artist pictures are pretty hideous. Is there any way to change what shows up while still having it related to the music playing?

Actually, the perfect thing would be if it kept the controls / current song information / playlist onscreen like if you move. But that goes away after a few seconds.

Sorry if this is a common thing, I couldn't find it after a cursory search.

There's lots of devices returned on a search for "android TV" on Amazon, but I'm looking for one that I can do the equivalent of rooting my phone and installing TWRP & Cyanogen (or any other custom ROM). Are there any TV devices that fit the bill for hackability like this?

When I'm done listening to Pandora and I want to watch a movie, I tried switching directly to Plex (without stopping the music) and start a movie but the music kept playing over the movie. I assumed the AndroidTV platform would know enough to stop Pandora. Am I doing something wrong?

I recently transitioned from a Roku 4 in hopes that the Nvidia Shield could offer more capability. The Roku 4 remote has a dedicated << and >> buttons that enable users to jump forward and backwards in media ~30 seconds or so. Plex for the Nvidia Shield lacks this capability and instead forces us to seek through time by a fact x2, x4, x8 etc... Does anyone know if I can replicate the Roku's ability to jump forward/back 30 seconds?

Have no issues with either the box, or with Google Play Music by themselves, however, HUGE problem playing music thru GPM on the box, takes forever to load a song and sometimes fails outright. Box is connected via wifi, when using GPM thru the phone thru wifi in the same room, there are no issues, but attempt to play it thru the tv, and it takes forever to load a song. Anyone else experienced this issue with GPM when playing music thru their Android tv box?

Is there a list of apps for the Nvidia Shield Android TV that supports 5.1 audio? Plex and Netflix work great, but other apps such as HBO now, showtime anywhere, and starz only support 2 channel audio which is incredibly lame considering this box can support 5.1 and 7.1.

I have a nas filled with videos, which I am using my Shield to transcode. It worked for a day, but now all of a sudden it is just showing the folders in the nas, but not reading any of the information from it. I can see all of the folders from other devices, but the Shield just stopped doing it today.

When I go through plex, it shows the nas, but doesn't show any of the folders.

I´m looking to buy a device with android tv so i can watch or cast movies and also do some gaming.. what would you choose between this two?

I just got an Android TV box and am wondering what everyone does with it. I have a roku that I use for plex most of the time now, I also have a Chromecast. My new Android TV box just has an infrared remote so i wouldn't think gaming would work very well without buying a controller. So What do you use with yours?

Hey all. I'm trying to use my TV remote to control my Shield via CEC, and I'd like to customize what key does what (for example, I'd like to reprogram the Record key to act as a Home key, since Record is all but useless and my remote doesn't have a button that acts as Home). Would this be possible?

Hi, I have a Sony android TV (KD43X8309). I also have a USB DAC that works with my android phone and tablet. Is there a way to use this with my TV? I tried plugging it into one of the USB ports and it got power but no sound.

Has anyone had USB audio working on any android TV device?

Hi, I have an Sony KDL-50W755C with a external USB HDD attached. And even if the the is off the light of the external HDD is like always flashing. Does anybody know what my TV is doing?

On my launcher it gives me some video like "James Cordon and the first lady doing karaoke!" I've never in my life watched a carpool karaoke video. However once I open up the YouTube app, the recommendations there give me my actual recommendations based on videos and channels I actually watch and subscribe to. With Twitch it shows me some random Starcraft 2 stream. I don't watch Starcraft 2 streams. I open up the Twitch app, there are the channels I actually watch, and what do you know 3 of the people I subscribe to are live. Why isn't that on the launcher?

My point is that most of these apps know what I'm probably going to watch, whether a new video from a channel I subscribe to, a streamer I usually watch. Why show me just random videos with seemingly no correlation to what I want to watch. The whole recommendation list just becomes useless and noise.

Anyone know if it is possible to disable Google Cast feature on Sony TV, as I have Shield connected to it, so it pretty pointless having two options.
