Any chance forge TV or Shield console's remote control app has a mouse like function?

I have the nexus player and the only reason I root is to use droidmote for sideloaded apps that don't support the regular remote. It would be nice if this was an advanced option in the android tv remote control app.

No 5.1 Surround with Netflix (Nexus Player)

I'm having a problem where my Nexus Player will not let me select a 5.1 audio track in the Netflix app or when casting via Netflix. The don't even show up as an option. I don't have any problem with my Chromecast. 5.1 works with Google Play Movies & TV. Anyone else experience this?

Sling TV?

Has official support arrived yet? I've heard it can be side loaded, but is it in a TV friendly UI?

As my Sony NSZ-GS7 collects dust, and I see other devices getting support that Android TV isn't(Sling, HBO Now, etc.) I'm nervous about getting a Nexus Player, Shield Console, etc.

Does anyone know how to get youtube to refresh?

I subscribe to about 20 youtube channels many of which add videos quite a bit daily. But the youtube app on android tv always seems a day behind on available videos. Right now I have to restart the device to get new videos to show on youtube. Is there a better way?

Sick of my Nexus Player

So I've been using my Nexus Player since first came out and I'm thinking of moving on for a couple of reasons. First, being an early adopter I figured there would be a lot more apps by now, but the Play Store for Android TV still seems to be a ghost town. Second, I have found the Netflix app to be buggy, and non-Google apps don't even bother integrating with voice recognition on the remote. And third, the casting is really buggy. For some reason, I find my Chromecast to be more reliable when it comes to Chrome tab casting. I have other gripes about it being slow, non-responsive, and just not quite ready to take over my living room yet. Any thoughts? Is there something I'm missing?

Multiple Android/Google profiles on one device

To make a long story short, is it possible to switch between user accounts when turning the TV on?

One of the big perks with Chromecast is that everyone can stay logged into their own profiles on their own phones and everything remains sandboxed. I'd rather not have people scrolling through my Youtube subscriptions or watching/rating things on my Netflix account.

Thanks!

A question on game and app compatibility

I am going to pick up the Shield when it releases in May. I have had the Shield Portable since its launch and absolutely love it, especially in console mode when hooked up to my TV, so the idea of a more powerful dedicated set top box is intriguing to me.

My Shield Portable supports a huge number of games natively with the controller. However, when I look through the "Android TV Play Store" online I see only a handful of these games are "Android TV compatible" and they don't show up in the Play Store browser on the Android TV device.

Is there a way to access the complete Play Store on the console? It seems silly to 100% exclude games and other apps even if they have controller support just because they weren't explicitly designed for Android TV. I would prefer to be able to install the apps "officially" through the store rather than sideload the APKs. (support devs, easy updates, etc).

TL;DR - Can you install any app with controller support even if it's not "Android TV certified" and how?

Thanks!!
