Just downloaded SmartTubeNext 16.37 on my fire stick. Actually love this app, way better than the regular YouTube app that had way too many ads on short videos. The only thing I wish was more customizable is the search history list . The list scrolls left to right for previous searches. Is there way to get it to show up and down?

I work from home and my kids routinely come downstairs while I have the game on or a movie playing in the home theater, I was wondering if there's an Android TV app that can simply show a black screen that I could map to my Netfilx button? I can click power but it would be much faster for me to resume once they grab their toys if I could essentially alt-tab to a blank screen that won't interest the kids.

I tried a photo gallery app with the idea of opening just a black picure but when you launch it it opens a sort of control centre instead of a particular photo. Any ideas welcome!

I have the Box 4K connected by fiber optics to an ONKIO home cinema amplifier, the sound reaches it but it is neither DD5.1 ​​nor DTS, it only emits Prologic or stereo.

This amplifier detects the audio systems automatically based on the sound source it receives, I have tried online content from various sources without getting the DD5.1-DTS signal to come out, it only stays in DD Prologic, I have also tried with content. MKV from external USB with DD5.1 ​​and DTS sound with the same result.

This content played from a desktop computer with windows 10 Pro emits the sound in DD5.1 ​​and DTS through fiber optics without a problem and the amplifier translates it normally.

I have tried with almost all the menus of the Homatic, automatic audio, manual selection, forcing the sound of the DTS input in the amplifier (it was silent), without result and since I have run out of ideas, I ask for help.

My TV does not support Dolby Atmos. So it is this reason? Why? Does your other set-top box work like this?

So its been a number of years since I got my Mi Box S and I feel its time to replace it with something newer. The only things that I am really looking for are Netflix Support and 16GB of storage (8GB is really tight on this box). Any thoughts on a decent replacement?

I got a TCL android tv. And it only does 5.1 through Netflix, Amazon, hotstar. Any media player app like vlc, pled, mx, jellyfin - only stereo. These media players all say that they’re playing the 6 channels but the tv isn’t letting them through possibly. But then that doesn’t explain why Netflix and Amazon are let through. This is very frustrating.

I have an Android tv(the mark is not quite famous, it called newstar), when I pair my Bluetooth headset to watch movie on stremio, I encounter with unbearable sound stuttering.in some point I try to Pair and unpair the devise but no avail.

Just as written; the YouTube app does not show “your videos” in the library section. Everything else seems to be fine (ie “watch later” “history” etc.) but the “your videos” simply shows a grey screen with empty video boxes.

Have tried “resetting the app” and no change. Have not tried deleting the app and reinstalling it or logging out and logging back in.

Anyone having the same issues?

My set up consists of a Google TV with Chromecast, a Samsung Frame TV, and a JBL 9.1 Soundbar. I'm using the Google remote to control everything with CEC. I like using the CEC commands so that I can use Google Home Hubs and Home Assistant be able to control the TV/GoogleTV/Soundbar in a way that is consistent with the remote. Also, we have the Frame TV set to turn off for power savings, but turn on to Art Mode once motion is detected.

The problem we have is that when the Art Mode turns on, sometimes everything else turns on with it. This does not happen every time, but enough to make it weird when we get home and the TV is just on the main menu.

I thought if I could set it up so that the TV can receive CEC commands from other devices, but not send the commands itself, that it would help solve the issue, but I'm not seeing any such method to do that.

I'm wondering if anyone else has dealt with this scenario and found a way to 'fix' it? Or should I just dig up my old Harmony remote (the only reason I have hesitated to do that is losing voice commands from the Google TV remote).

I understand FireTV devices can 'pair' with Alexa speakers to use for sound output. As FireTV is also Android-based, has anyone figured out a way to pair AndroidTV devices with Alexa speakers for the same purpose (rooted or not), perhaps by sideloading a specific apk? Or is this functionality deeply integrated into the core of FireTV and cannot be extracted to be used elsewhere?

In my case, I am using the Walmart Onn 4K AndroidTV puck.

The system is plugged into the ARC HDMI slot and switches on/off with the TV fine. So the TV has proper control over the audio system. I just wondered if there's already a voice command I can use on the TV to turn on/off the system? Seems like an obvious one that would already be part of android TV.

All I've managed to do is switch to the ARC HDMI input, that in turn would switch the audio system on. Would be nice to switch off the auto on with the TV, and then use my voice to turn it on/off without switching to it. Then I can ditch my remote for my audio system. The TV speakers is plenty for the news/youtube, use my 5.1 system for movies/music only and then save a little money doing so. With the crazy energy prices, everything makes a difference, some amps can be power hungry like mine.

Just made the switch from the original Chromecast to Google TV and I'm struggling to get my ambient mode to work. So far it hasn't come on automatically, even after an hour + of inactivity. When I manually turn it on, it only seems to remain on an hour or so before the TV shows 'no device connected' until I hit a button on the remote and the home screen pops up. This is a huge deal breaker for me, since we love having the ambient mode on 24/7. Does it just not work the same? Back to my Chromecast?

Would one of those cheap "Aliexpress Android-TV in a stick" be enough?

I picked one up on Black Friday and oh boy is it literally useless. Every button press takes .5 seconds to register, the Home Screen UI is a laggy piece of shit, and even apps work noticeably worse than on my roku stick. Could it still be updating stuff in the background since it’s brand new? I find it hard to believe that a piece of hardware can be this bad but have good reviews

I have a Philips 48OLED806 with Android TV 11. When I try to watch UHD content through the BBC iPlayer app I get the pop-up asking if I want to watch the UHD stream, and the TV says it is HDR content but the it is definitely not HDR. When I try the iPlayer app on PS5 it is HDR and looks much better. Any ideas what is causing this?

The private DNS option is hidden in this device and it requires changing it from ADB commands.

To do that, USB debugging needs to be on. However it's greyed out and no option to change it.

Any workaround to enable private DNS, preferably NextDNS.

I cant decide which to purchase. I won't be using it for Netflix or gaming, only to stream IPTV and Stremio. Is the Nvidia worth the price? Has anyone had decent experience with Homatics as a brand? Any feedback is appreciated!
