Just got a MI Box in the mail from /u/comcastsux shipped to Canada from someone who had no reason to care but just wants our community to grow.

Is anyone else getting a 4k60 issue where the only time it works is on a fresh boot? When waking up from suspended mode it switches to 4k24. Trying to switch it to 4k60 again results in no output.

For all you Shield TV users out there. I just discovered that if you double tap the volume control slider it acts as a virtual play/pause button. I don't know if there's documentation on this, I just stumbled upon it on my own.

Then again I may be dumb and everyone is already aware of this. I guess I'll find out.

While the MiBox does have an IR receiver, I noticed it had a noticeable delay and sometimes would register a button press twice when using my Harmony hub, but using the bluetooth remote it came with worked perfectly. You can connect your Harmony hub to your MiBox through bluetooth if you add it as an Asus Nexus Player. When you add a device, choose an Asus Nexus player and then when you get to the step to pair it, just go to bluetooth settings on your MiBox and it will pair. Now my harmony hub remote works great with the MiBox using a bluetooth connection.

I found that the mi box has an ir receiver and it works great with my harmony remote.

I tried sideloading the Sony TV version of the Prime Video apk on the Mi Box, but it would not play videos. So, I created my own #sideloadtag TinyURL to install the Amazon Prime Video Launcher.

I've been doing some web scavenging and haven't had much luck about this topic. So thought I should post to see if I can get an answer (or something along those lines).

But is there a way to create "custom" commands to tell logitech harmony to open a specific application on android tv? I know you could always program the harmony activity to turn the tv on -> scroll down to the app -> then click select and open it. But this can be laggy some times.

Just random thoughts, if there is not a way to create "custom" commands on Logitech's side, could it be achieved some how with IFTTT or Tasker?

As title says. Have US box from walmart. Denon Receiver. If I switch my input to my PS4, the receiver automatically switches back to the mi box. Tried different cable and input same problem. I use CEC a lot, turning it off is a major inconvenience. TV is Samsung if that matters, but when I turn ofd Anynet the problem still exists.

was thinking about getting the nvidia shield, wondering if emulators are optimised for android tv? By that I mean I can play with a controller, easily select through the menus, and it won't have the onscreen controls for android phones?

I seen people using retroarch but I'm not really a big fan of launching all consoles from one app. Would rather dedicated apps for each, specifically nintendo and sega consoles. Will this be a problem?

As the title suggests, i have a problem with waking up the device because it will only respond to the original bluetooth remote. Which im trying to cut out of the equation. i have a wireless WIFI keyboard from logitech that will wake up my NEXUS PLAYER from sleep when you tap a key. However the MI BOX does no such thing.

Anything that im missing here? im close to putting my nexus player back in the living room so i dont have like 3 remotes all layed out to get my entertainment system powered up

Leaning towards a nvidia shield TV but if you can convince me otherwise go have at it.

I have a subscription to Private Internet Access (PIA) and I'd like to get an Android TV device to use with it. Does anybody have any experience using this service on the Mi box or any other Android TV devvice?

Is anyone else having this problem? When I connect any pair of bluetooth headphones to my mi box, Kodi videos start lagging or fail to load altogether. Then as soon as I turn them off, everything starts working perfectly.

I've tried numerous bluetooth headsets with three different Mi Boxes and still get the same result.

As the title says, when I turn off my TV, the Mi Box goes into its suspend mode. However, I'm a big user of Chromecast, and I often just cast from my phone even before turning the TV on. This action used to power on the TV using HDMI-CEC with my old Chromecast. However, now that I've replaced it with the Mi Box, it turns itself off (suspend mode) when I turn off my TV. This means that with my TV off, the cast button on the apps don't show up since the Mi Box is off as well. Is there anyway to make it so that the TV turning off doesn't turn off the Mi Box?

Mi Box remote is missing the menu, FF, play, and rewind buttons has been driving me nuts. So being that it is Bluetooth I pared my old fire stick remote with it. Problem solved.
