NFL Sunday Ticket

Hi, I have a couple Nexus Players and a couple Nvidia Shield TVs. I just got NFL Sunday Ticket, I was able to view on the devices by casting from the app on my phone and tablet, but was wondering if anyone has figured out a way to use the app on the Android TVs.

I was able to sideload the tablet version of the app fine, but I wasn't able to choose a game to watch, seemed like with a mouse would work, but that wouldn't be ideal.

Two Netflix Accounts, One Box

I just picked up a Mi Box and thought I was a happy camper. Everything seemed to work well in addition to it being a chromecast (which I already had and adored). However, it looks like it is not really a chromecast as you cannot cast Netflix if your phone is logged into a different Netflix user account. Is there a way around this? I would like for my roommate or friends to be able to cast without having to logout and back in on the TV or without using my Netflix account.

Possibly buying a mi box and have a few questions.

I'm thinking about picking up a mi box from Walmart tomorrow. I've seen that some people were having problems with Netflix and was wondering if those issues have been fixed yet. That would be a deal breaker for me if the problems haven't been fixed.

Edit: Bought one and it's working great!

Mi Box and CEC

I learned last night that it is possible to eliminate some remotes by enabling the HDMI CEC setting on my TV. So far I can get my Mi box remote to turn my TV on but I can't get it to turn it off. I've tried changing the setting for the power button in the Mi Box settings but when I set it "Shutdown" it constantly brings up the reboot option. Any insight would be greatly appreciated! http://i.imgur.com/dCJo0Jp.png

Mi Box with SPMC display aspect ratio issue

Hey gang, picked up a Mi Box and am running SPMC on it. I launched a movie through exodus and it should have been 16:9 but was being stretched full screen. when i went through all the OSD options to change (normal / 16:9 / original / etc..) none of them made a difference. now i also have Kodi running on a PC, i played the same movie on there and it worked fine with the aspect ratio set to 'normal' so i know it's not the video. how can i fix that so the Mi Box doesn't stretch it?

Mi Box promos

Has anyone been able to successfully redeemed both promos for the mi box when purchased from walmart.com? There's the $50 off of 3 months in the box and walmart emails you another $40 promo. Which do you use first? I used the $50 code in the box and sling won't let me add the $40 on from walmart.com.

I am wondering if anyone has attempted to use the RMF-TX200 remote with a 2015 model Sony Android TV? I currently own a KDL55W800C and looking to get the Touchpad Remote, but noticed that the newer TVs have voice button along with a Google Play button.

Gamefly app on android box/tv

Hey guys

I am interested in the gamefly app. It seems it's available in 2014 Samsung tv and above. I have a 2o13 un55f9000 2013 with sek3500 2015 tizen. Apparently it's not supported.

However they say it's available on Amazon Fire tv? Is that possible to export that app and into nvidia shield tv? Or something.

I am interested a gamestreaming service, on a hopefully coming nvidia shield tv I want to buy. I know nvidia has its own but the game list is not that impressive compares to fx gamefly.

Cheers

Possible to hide apps in the Leanback Launcher (default Android TV Launcher)?

Is there any way I can hide certain apps from being displayed on the home screen? I'm rooted and open to such solutions as well. I really like the default launcher but this is annoying and unfortunately leaves me with no choice but to use another launcher.

In the States for a few days, Walmart near hotel has mibox in stock. Is it worth buying?

Like the title says, Walmart near my hotel has a few miboxes in stock, wanted to pick one up, but decided to research it a bit first. Reading through some of the posts, it's kinda 50/50 with this box.

Is this something with getting just for watching kodi and live streaming?

Thanks

What's the best way to set up a kid's account for YouTube? (On Android TV)

I have a Sony Bravia 2015, and I have MY Google account associated with the TV. As I understand it, I can only have one account.

But my kids love to watch YouTube. I generally keep it signed out, so they're not messing with my suggested videos and subscriptions. They can use it in this way and it's limited to kids content, so they stay out of trouble for the most part.

But I'd like to give them the ability to subscribe to channels and whatnot. Is there a way to do this? I tried adding them as a channel under my account, but I didn't see any way to limit content from a Channel perspective.

Any ideas?

Skype on the MiBox?

I know that Skype is no longer officially supported on android TV. With that being said, is it possible to side load the apk and plug in a USB web cam? I'm assuming the answer is no, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask.

Colors are looking washed out on Nvidia shield TV

Apple tv and Lg tv's smart app yield same picture quality but nvidia shield tv looks washed out...

Specially pay attention to skin tones... I verified all are tested in same picture settings... I have truned on ultrahd setting for hdr which is working fine.

Nvidia shield: https://imgur.com/a/WpR7H

LG/Apple Tv: https://imgur.com/a/eJtE1

Even truehd via spmc and kodi not working n I verified all settings. While 50 bucks chinese android tv is passing truehd just fine. Seems like there was a bug on packaging IEC packets which is affecting small percentage of sound bar/avr... Support team is not able to resolve it...

Seems like I am going to sell this on ebay now...such a shame for this powerful hardware...

Android TV media playback controls and dedicated remote buttons

So I recently picked up a Mi Box. It's my first Android TV device. I do like some things about it but I have to say that media playback controls on Android TV are pretty bad compared to Apple TV and Roku -- there's just little consistency among major apps in terms of UI/UX when it comes to controlling playback.

The best-designed app I've seen yet in this regard on Android TV is Google Play Movies & TV, in which one press of the center D-pad button will pause playback and bring up the playback UI; a second press will resume play. Meanwhile a single left or right press on the D-pad during playback will skip back or forward several seconds while keeping those buttons depressed will bring up a thumbnail search on the UI for rewind and fast forward.

On the other hand, you have an app like VUDU in which the first press brings up the playback UI and then the D-pad must be used to navigate around among the on-screen controls for play/pause, rewind, FF, etc. The D-pad itself isn't directly tied to any specific playback action. Not good.

Other apps, like Hulu and Plex, fall in between.

Can anyone tell me if Android TV supports dedicated play, pause, rewind, and FF remote control buttons, even though such buttons don't appear on standard Android TV remotes that come with Nexus Player, Shield TV and Mi Box? I'm wondering if I were to use, for instance, an Amazon Fire TV remote with the Mi Box or my Harmony 650 universal remote with a Shield TV if the dedicated media control buttons (play, pause, rew, FF, skip back, skip forward) on those remotes would work with all Android TV apps or if they would be useless. Hope to hear from folks who have experience with those or similar remotes.
